Job Description

6 month contract SDET role with a growing team delivering major retail technology programs to a global retail organization.

On site work environment in Vancouver, 4 days a week on site

What & Why:
As a result of investment in technology our client is looking for a Senior Quality Assurance Engineer role within their Retail Engineering and Delivery team. This team is responsible for engineering and deploying quality solutions that enhance the in-store customer experience. The role carries both hands-on technical responsibility and team leadership expectations, setting QA standards, driving test automation frameworks, and mentoring quality engineers across multiple programs and projects. The core work involves designing and executing test strategies, building and maintaining automated test solutions, partnering with cross-functional teams including Software Engineers, Product Managers, and UX/UI, and communicating testing metrics and risks to senior stakeholders. Experience with Point-of-Sale systems, particularly Oracle Xstore, is highly valued given the retail context of the team.

They are located close to rapid transit in newly renovated offices in downtown Vancouver and have a primarily on site work environment, 4 days a week in office.

You:
You will bring the following education, skills and experience to the role:

8+ years of QA and/or development experience, with 3+ years of hands-on automation experience using tools such as Playwright or Cypress, and the ability to program as needed
2+ years of experience working with a Point-of-Sale system, with Oracle Xstore experience strongly preferred, alongside familiarity with CI/CD concepts and AI-assisted tools such as GitHub Copilot
Proven ability to own and lead testing capabilities across multiple concurrent programs, including developing test strategies, identifying risks, managing test environments, and communicating outcomes to stakeholders
Demonstrated experience mentoring quality engineers, conducting automation code reviews, driving QA best practices across cross-functional agile teams, and leading testing initiatives with minimal supervision

Compensation:
This role pays between $60-74 per hour.
