Job Description
- Data Quality SDET contract role.
- High growth team developing data engineering solutions for a global organization.
- Primarily on site work environment in Vancouver, 4 days a week in office.
As a result of growth our client is looking to add an intermediate-level Quality Engineer role within their Enterprise Data Quality Engineering team, responsible for advancing data quality maturity across the organization. The role blends hands-on technical work with enablement and advocacy, ensuring that data quality standards, monitoring, and best practices are consistently adopted across teams and critical data domains. The core work involves implementing data validation and testing strategies, onboarding teams onto data quality tooling, debugging complex data issues across distributed systems, and optimizing pipeline performance. They have invested majorly in technology and have had an incredibly successful past few years, including a major strategic acquisition. They have an all-star leadership team who keeps you accountable and provides support while still affording you tremendous autonomy. They are located close to rapid transit in newly renovated offices in downtown Vancouver and have a primarily on site work environment with 4 days a week on site.
You:
You will bring the following education, skills and experience to the role:
- 4 to 7 years of experience in a Data Quality Engineering or similar role, with proficiency in SQL and at least one programming language including Python, Java, or Scala
- Experience with Snowflake and Databricks platforms, including PySpark, alongside knowledge of ETL processes, data modeling, and data architecture fundamentals
- Hands-on experience with data quality tools, data test automation, and DevOps tooling such as Jenkins, Azure DevOps, or GitLab, within a cloud environment such as AWS, Azure, or GCP
- Demonstrated ability to debug complex data issues across distributed systems using logs, data profiling tools, and lineage tracking, with experience collaborating cross-functionally on data quality requirements and scope definition
This role pays between $50-59 per hour.
