Position Information
Location Anvil Office Tower, New Westminster Salary Range
$60,304.00 per annum (with wage increments to a max of $67,630.00 per annum), which includes a special allowance of $2,000 per annum. Salary and wage increments are in accordance with the Collective Agreement.

WHAT IT TAKES
• Bachelor's Degree in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism or English and experience in media relations, public relations or corporate communications in a mid-to-large organization (preferably in a public sector). An equivalent combination of education and recent experience will be considered.
• Three years' experience working in the communications field, including writing for audience and channel, traditional and social media relations, and project implementation.
• Proven ability as a strong writer who knows a story when they see one and are able to work with internal teams to plan and execute integrated storytelling opportunities.
• Experience contributing to and implementing strategic communications plans that align with organizational goals and objectives.
• Proven expertise in conceptualizing, planning and developing a diverse range of communications projects and content features, including interactive elements that drive meaningful engagement.
Additional Information
• This full-time, regular position (35 hours per week) is available starting April 13, 2026.
• Hours of work will typically be scheduled Monday to Friday, between 8:30 am and 4:00 pm.
• This position is required to work a flexible schedule based on operational needs.
• Shift days and times may change depending on operational needs.
• Evening and occasional weekend work may be required.
• The position is located at the Anvil Office Tower, New Westminster; and will be required to work at all Douglas College campuses and offsite locations.
