About the Team

Our Marketing Team is full of ambitious, creative, and talented professionals dedicated to a superior brand experience. Purpose of the Role

As the Vice President, Marketing, you report directly to the President, Chief Development Officer and your primary responsibility is to generate revenue for the organization through a robust marketing strategy.

You lead the development, management, and implementation of the overall marketing strategy, roadmap, and initiatives. You also lead our growing, cross-functional Marketing Team with a results-oriented approach while fostering an environment of creativity and collaboration. 

Ideally, you leverage deep experience and technical strength in the wealth and asset management industry. Having this background allows you to execute strategy effectively and efficiently for our aggressive growth goals.

This role can be based in either Vancouver or Toronto.

Key Accountabilities:

Overall Marketing Strategy

  • Develop a dynamic marketing strategy that drives and supports our brand, and our overall business goals, as we grow and scale.
  • Monitor, measure, scrutinize, and improve marketing strategies as needed and to keep pace with current and future trends.
  • Collaborate and consult with senior leadership and business leaders to build strategies for new and existing priorities, meeting both short- and long-term goals.
  • Create budget and oversee expenditures ensuring financial resources are strategically allocated to drive and achieve goals and objectives.
  • Prioritize projects and allocate all available resources accordingly.
  • Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with the Nicola Wealth Board of Directors, including external board members.

Brand Management

  • Build and continually increase brand awareness through development and implementation of a robust and cohesive brand and advertising plan.
  • Oversee all external brand positioning and outreach, across all channels, to drive consistency, message alignment, and audience engagement.

Digital Marketing & Metrics

  • Drive new, and enhance existing, client relationships through digital marketing capabilities.
  • Maximize alignment and conversion through marketing and sales optimization.
  • Analyze key metrics to identify challenges and opportunities.
  • Use data and analytics to identify and anticipate new market segments, trends, behaviours, patterns, and preferences.

Events & Sponsorships

  • Oversee the planning and execution of corporate events, both virtual and in-person, that enhance brand presence, foster client engagement, strengthen community, and support the achievement of the objectives of the organization.
  • Build and foster deep and broad external networks to drive sponsorship, philanthropy, and brand building opportunities.

Team Leadership & Management

  • Inspire, develop, and lead a high functioning and ambitious marketing team.
  • Forecast and proactively prepare for hiring needs of the team.
  • Share goals and priorities with the team and empower them to deliver on key components within their area of expertise.
  • Create succession readiness across the team.

Other relevant and related responsibilities, as assigned and as the needs of the organization change.

Required Experience and Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree, in marketing, communications, business administration, or related field.
  • Extensive experience in a similar role (15+ years).
  • Superior public speaking skills with the ability to communicate our unique differentiators to audiences of 1 – 100+.
  • Exceptional written communication skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal, relationship-building, and verbal communication skills.
  • Superior marketing, research, and analytical skills.
  • Strong knowledge and experience with digital marketing tools, SEO, and related software.
  • Strong leadership & management of people (7+ years).
  • Competency in Microsoft Office suite
  • You are legally eligible to work in Canada for any employer.
Additional Experience and Qualifications:
  • Experience in the financial services industry.

This position comes with a competitive base salary hiring range of $164,000 - $226,000 dependent on experience, skills, qualifications and internal equity. As part of our total rewards package, we also offer:
