SMT (Surface Mount Technology) Machine Operator:  Harvey 2550

Job Description:

We are looking to hire a SMT (Surface Mount Technology) Machine Operator for our electronic manufacturing facility located in the Lower Mainland.

Responsibilities:

• Review and inspect all incoming data prepared by the customer (BOM/Assembly instructions) for sufficient assembly of PCBs
• Set-up, operate and maintain screen printer (Ekra), SMT placement machines (Manncorp), reflow oven (Omni Electrovert) and other equipment used in the SMT assembly of PCB’s
• Create placement profiles using CAD files and manual set up as well as create reflow profiles for oven
• Identify and report defective SMD components, PCB and PCB assemblies according to IPC-A-610
• Ensure product meets standards and documentation.
• Be able to work within a team to complete projects in the most efficient way
• Work with QC to identify root cause of issues and correct as they arise
• Maintain a clean and organized work area
• Coordinate SMT work schedule with production supervisor

Qualifications:

• Experience with Manncorp SMT an asset, but experience with similar equipment also accepted.
• Minimum 2 years experience as a SMT Operator
• Working knowledge of IPC-A-610 standard
• Knowledge of component identification
• Knowledge of component handling and ESD requirements
• Basic computer skills and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent attention to detail and good hand-eye coordination
• Strong communication skills
• Willing to learn and able to effectively work in a team when problems arise
• Read, write, and speak English

This is a fulltime position Monday to Friday, 8:00 am – 4:30 pm

Salary is open depending on current experience
