Job duties
- Read and interpret mechanical drawings and of the assigned project(s).
- Layout mechanical services for plumbing and HVAC piping.
- Install mechanical services per the drawing.
- Install plumbing services per the latest version of the BC Plumbing Code.
- Install, modify and repair plumbing systems for single and multi-storey buildings, including water supply, drainage, sewage, gas appliances, and sub-floor plumbing.
- Dig drains, install pipes, assemble plumbing structures and install fixtures, fittings and appliances.
- Coordinate basic installation with other sub-trades.
- Read drawings of other disciplines.
- Comply with the job site QAQC requirements.
- Operate hand and power tools in a safe manner, and handle materials safely and efficiently.
- Read and understand the site health and safety policies. Ensure all rules and regulations are being followed while working on site.
- Perform other duties as required.
- Oversee the material and equipment during assembly.
- Capable of being solely responsible for all tools assigned to the task.
- Responsible for identifying and conforming to any intermediate safety requirements.
- Coordinate removal of garbage and debris created during the process.
- Oversee the testing process including leak management.
- Process material at completion, scrap, useful material. All put away and space clean.
- Keep the working area clean and tidy.
Terms of employment
Permanent, full-time (40 hours per week)
Expected Employment Start Date: As soon as possible
Wage
$37.50/hour

Skills requirements – Education and Work experience
Education:
- secondary school required
- completion of Plumbing Level 1 and 2 Apprenticeship Technical Training required
Work Experience:
- Min. 18 months of experience as Plumber Apprentice in a construction job site.
- Experience in installing, modifying and repairing plumbing systems for single and multi-storey buildings, including water supply, drainage, sewage, gas appliances, and sub-floor plumbing required
- Experience in digging drains, installing pipes, assembling plumbing structures and installing fixtures, fittings and appliances required
- Demonstrable experience in safe operation of hand and power tools, handling materials, and following safety procedures on job sites required
- Ability to interpret plumbing drawings, follow instructions and ensure compliance with British Columbia Plumbing Code (BCPC) and safety standards in our province required
- Must be competent in modern technology to improve work quality and efficiency
- SkilledTradesBC Apprentice Certificate of Registration and Apprentice Registration Card as Plumber required
