6-month contract Platform Engineer - Asset Protection working with the infrastructure team of a global organization

6-month contract Network Engineer role
Working with a growing infrastructure team
On site work environment with 4 days a week in office

What & Why:
Our client is looking to add a Senior Network Engineer to be a key player on their Global Network Engineering team, responsible for keeping a massive, complex infrastructure running seamlessly across 750+ stores, distribution centers, and corporate offices in 25 countries. As a Platform Engineer, you’ll own the health of the Asset Protection Technology Infrastructure: the cameras, video recorders, access control, and alarm systems that protect the people and product, plus the network connectivity they rely on. You’ll pair hands-on operational support with better monitoring and automation, so issues are caught earlier and resolved faster. You'll collaborate with architects, security teams, and vendors to build a network that's secure, scalable, and ready to support their continued global expansion. They are located close to rapid transit in newly renovated offices in downtown Vancouver and have an onsite work environment with 4 days a week in office.

You:
You will bring the following education, skills and experience to the role:

You have 4-8 years in infrastructure, network, or security systems operations, ideally with some automation or scripting experience (Python, PowerShell, or similar) or the aptitude to learn
You’ve worked hands-on with physical security technology such as Genetec Security Center, Axis, Solink, NVRs, access control, and alarm monitoring
You understand retail WAN, SD-WAN, carrier circuits, switching, wireless, and remote site connectivity
You’ve used tools like ServiceNow, SolarWinds, Splunk, Datadog, or PagerDuty, and you’re strong at incident, problem, and vendor management

Compensation:
This role pays between $60-70 per hour.
