Location New Westminster Campus Salary Range
$71,846 - $115,129 annually. Placement on the faculty salary scale is based on education, professional certification and experience and will be in accordance with the Collective Agreement.

WHAT IT TAKES
The Music Technology Programs Coordinator provides leadership, advising and operational support to ensure that the Music Technology Diploma and Advanced Certificate in Applied Audio programs function effectively.
As Coordinator, you will:

    • Schedule music courses as they relate to the Music Technology Diploma and the Advanced Certificate in Applied Audio;
    • Represent the Technology area within the Music Department and liaise effectively with other coordinators and the Director of Performing and Fine Arts;
    • Participate in Faculty operational meetings, including the Dean's Advisory Committee, and work collaboratively with the Dean on program operations, including the preparation of the annual Education Plan;
    • Schedule and chair regular Music Technology program meetings;
    • Liaise with the Community Music School to ensure cooperation in course offerings and use of shared facilities;
    • Ensure timely and effective communication within the department and with other programs, College offices, and external organizations (including the Program Advisory Committee);
    • Collect, maintain, and share relevant information and program policies in digital format with faculty and current students (e.g., student handbook);
    • Work collaboratively with the Director of Performing and Fine Arts and the administrative assistants to organize timetabling and room-booking requests;
    • Contribute to the Department's capital budget requests;
    • Work with the Music technicians, Department coordinator, Director of Performing and Fine Arts, and the LLPA EdTech representatives to ensure program needs for computer resources and educational technology are addressed, and existing equipment maintained;
    • Initiate and oversee updating of program-related curriculum guidelines and participate in program planning;
    • Contribute program-related content to Director of Performing and Fine Arts for Department and College publications and websites; ensure that all information is accurate and current;
    • Participate in recruitment events, in cooperation with the Director of Performing and Fine Arts and in conjunction with Department and College-wide efforts;
    • Foster connections with industry professionals by attending trade fairs and other industry-related events;
    • Manage program registration and enrolment by advising students, coordinating and participating in annual student auditions and assessments, reviewing requests for PLAR , and facilitating pre-requisite waivers;
    • Monitor student progress throughout the program;
    • Participate in the development, implementation and evaluation of recruitment initiatives and retention strategies.
Additional Information
The Faculty of Language, Literature and Performing Arts is seeking a qualified music instructor to serve as a Music Technology Programs Coordinator for the Music Department.

This position is for an initial appointment of one year with the possibility to extend for two more years, for a total of a 3-year term. The starting date for this position is August 17, 2026. This role has 3 sections of time release available for the 2026-2027 academic year. Workload is assigned each year based on available sections.
