About Highland Valley Copper

Highland Valley Copper (HVC) Operationsis Canada's largest open-pit copper mine and molybdenum operation. HVC produces both copper and molybdenum concentrate through autogenous and semi-autogenous grinding and flotation.

Located approximately 17 kilometers west of Logan Lake and about 50 kilometers southwest of Kamloops in British Columbia, the surrounding areas of HVC have an abundant offering of outdoor experiences.

Key Responsibilities

• Be a courageous safety leader, adhere to and sponsor safety and environmental rules and procedures

• Participate in the health and safety programs of Teck to ensure that everyone on site goes home safe and healthy every day

• Collaborate with engineering team to produce detailed designs for mechanical projects on site such as upgrades to mobile mining equipment, processing plant or building facilities

• Support operations and work with skilled trades to design/build lifting devices and other aids for maintenance

• Create and evaluate innovative ideas and technologies to help improve the way we do business

Qualifications

• Currently pursuing a post-secondary degree in Mechanical Engineering

• Comfortable working in a dynamic industrial work environment with a range of engineering,technicaland operational personnel

• Willingness to work outdoors and able tooperatevehicles at our operations, in various weather conditions and terrain

• Motivated self-starter with the ability to managenumerousprojects simultaneously

• Strong written,verbaland interpersonal communication skills with a capability to communicate complex ideas to all levels

• Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access) and a solid understanding of AutoCAD and SolidWorks would beadvantageous

• Able to work efficiently independently as well as part of the team

• Proven ability to learn innovative technologies and platforms quickly, accurately, and efficiently

• Ability to communicate with precision in a technical environment

• Able to articulate sophisticated concepts clearly and in a way a diverse audience would understand

Pay Range: CAD $4833 - $5592 per month

The actual amount offered is determined based on the successful candidate's relevant experience, skills, and competencies and considers internal equity.
