Working in this area, you will provide consulting services to clients, analysing their needs, implementing software solutions, and offering training and support for effective utilisation of Microsoft applications. Your versatile knowledge will allow you to assist clients in optimising operational efficiency and achieving their strategic objectives.

The Application Modernization Manager for Azure is responsible for leading and executing the strategy for modernizing our application portfolio. This individual will work closely with development teams, architects, and business stakeholders to assess legacy applications, define modernization roadmaps, and oversee the migration and re-architecting of applications to the Azure cloud. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of Azure services, a strong background in application development and DevOps principles, and a proven track record of leading successful modernization projects.
Skills you will use to solve:
• Strategic Planning: Ability to assess business value, and technical risk, and prioritize applications for modernization.
• Azure Platform Expertise: In-depth knowledge of Azure services, including but not limited to Azure App Service, Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS) , Azure Databases (e.g., Azure SQL, Cosmos DB) , Azure DevOps and Azure Migrate
• Modernization Techniques: Experience with various modernization strategies such as re-platforming, refactoring, and re-architecting.
• Leadership and Communication: Strong leadership skills to guide technical teams and communicate effectively with stakeholders at all levels.
• DevOps and Automation: Proficiency in DevOps practices and tools, including CI/CD pipelines and infrastructure as code.
• Application Architecture: Understanding of modern architecture patterns like microservices and containerization with Docker and Kubernetes. Certifications on Azure
• Azure Solutions Architect Expert: This certification validates the expertise in designing and implementing solutions that run on Microsoft Azure, including aspects like compute, network, storage, and security.
• DevOps Engineer Expert: This certification demonstrates the ability to combine people, processes, and technologies to continuously deliver valuable products and services that meet end-user needs and business objectives.
• Azure Developer Associate: This certification is for developers who design, build, test, and maintain cloud applications and services on Microsoft Azure.
This newly created role reflects our commitment to growth and delivering distinctive value for our clients and stakeholders.
The salary range for this position is $168,000 - $218,000. The posted salary range represents the expected hiring range for PwC locations in major city centres. Given our national recruiting approach, ranges may vary for positions in other locations. At PwC Canada, base salary is determined by your skills, experience, qualifications and work location. In addition to base salary, eligible employees may have opportunities to participate in variable incentive pay programs which are designed to reward individual and firm-wide achievements.
