Accountant

Great opportunity for an immediately available Accountant to join a very successful and well-established international company in an exciting industry.

This is a 3-month contract to fill in for someone currently on leave.

What- the Role:

The Accountant is responsible for overseeing complete journal entries and general accounting-related tasks for the month-end close activities

Perform full-cycle accounting, including preparation of working papers and supporting financial close activities to meet internal reporting deadlines.
Prepare and enter journal entries including system downloads into the accounting system to meet month-end accounting requirements.
Provide month-end reconciliations to the GL and prepare weekly and/or monthly reports and statements.
Assist with global reporting requirements and support on internal & external audits.
Positively drive agreed initiatives, propose new initiatives and adopt a sense of continuous improvement.

Who- the Candidate:

A degree in Finance or Accounting, CPA designation.
A minimum of 2 years’ experience in the industry.
Experience with Oracle, and Maximo systems are an asset.
Highly organized with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage timelines.
Exceptional computer skills and ability to quickly learn new software.
A willingness to take initiative to solve problems and a desire to identify process improvements.
Strong attention to detail.
Ability to communicate clear and concise information with all departments and levels in an accurate and informative manner.
Excellent interpersonal skills to work effectively with your team and other departments.
Fluent in English.
Previous Canadian work experience or experience working directly with Canadian industries.

How Much:

$40-42.50/hr + 4% vacation pay.

Where:

Burnaby, 5 days’ onsite, along Skytrain line.
