Come work as a Talent Optimization Partner with Vancouver Coastal Health (VCH)!

 

Reporting to the Manager, Talent Optimization, the Talent Optimization Partner supports leaders in forming and driving their people strategy, leveraging tools and technology to identify and develop internal talent and create a culture of continuous learning and growth. The Partner’s primary role is to leverage data and use cloud-based human capital management (HCM) systems to create talent management processes, procedures and insights that help VCH leaders retain, develop, and grow their teams to their full potential.

 

The Partner will adopt innovative approaches and provide data-driven insights in collaboration with other services such as work design, talent acquisition, people experience, leadership development and talent development, forming a seamless partnership and client-centered service models for leaders to achieve their talent optimization goals. Through comprehensive people-centric strategies that support organizational business goals as well as the maximization of employee wellbeing, potential, performance, and growth, the Partner will leverage a range of talent optimization frameworks and tailored solutions that understand client needs and remain flexible to meet current and future goals.

 

Experience using cloud-based human capital management (HCM) systems for talent management analytics is essential, as is having a successful track record in creating, evaluating, and reporting on talent metrics and results. The Talent Optimization Partner is also a systems thinker, able to translate desired outcomes into comprehensive monitoring and measurement frameworks that connect different functions and HCM disciplines to talent strategy objectives.

 

The Talent Optimization Partner with Vancouver Coastal Health:

  • Builds talent strategies, programs, and processes to provide a clear roadmap of talent enablers that reinforce and strengthen the organization’s culture.
  • Implements core talent processes: performance enablement, talent reviews and succession planning.
  • Connects plans to senior leader growth and development offerings, including 1:1 coaching services and learning programs related to talent management development best practice.
  • Provides input into requirements for HCM system including evaluation of current systems, processes and areas for improvement and leads implementation and ongoing maintenance of HCM process for talent management functions, ensuring smooth adoption across the organization.
  • Partners with organizational leaders to identify and develop supports and services that will help continue to build and sustain a patient-focused, customer-focused, and high-performance culture in which the values of the organization are modeled and embraced at all levels.
  • Establishes metrics and feedback mechanisms to measure program effectiveness and outcomes.
  • Manages workflow and deadlines efficiently, delivering short- and long-term plans.
  • Builds a data-driven talent function to measure, monitor and proactively respond to trends, goals, and talent drivers.
  • Develops talent management strategies to strengthen the onboarding of new employees to keep pace with a significant growth and hiring rate.
  • Demonstrates knowledge of developing and implementing talent programs to retain talent in a large and complex healthcare system.
  • Understands the business, goals, culture and challenges, systemically diagnosing business and organizational issues; designing and implementing solutions that shape culture; building organizational capability; and enabling business results and meaningful culture change.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned. 
Qualifications

Education & Experience

  • Master’s Degree in a relevant discipline plus five (5) years’ recent related experience in industrial/organizational psychology, leadership development, talent management or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
  • Certification in HR or Talent-related specialty from an approved organization (SHRM, HCI, NAHCR, HRCI, AAMM, ASPR, AIRS, etc.) preferred.

Knowledge & Abilities

  • Demonstrated ability to apply comprehensive knowledge and skill in Industrial/Organizational Psychology, educational theory, research, talent technology and related best practices as well as an understanding of health care disciplines and networking abilities.
  • Highly developed interpersonal, communication and presentation skills with the ability to explain, influence, listen, instruct, give clear feedback, and ask insightful questions
  • Demonstrated knowledge of organization and leadership development theory and applications.
  • Demonstrated group facilitation skills in an organization development role.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of adult learning strategies and methodologies
  • Demonstrated ability to provide senior advisory services and consultation to leaders/ managers using strong communication skills and the ability to engage stakeholders educate, mentor, persuade and influence.
  • Demonstrated experience in designing effective talent programs.
  • Maintains current knowledge of new developments, trends and research in organizational and leadership development, change management, and recommends/implements best practices accordingly.
  • Fosters creativity and innovation in strategic planning involving learning and development and in the development of teaching and learning strategies.
  • Applies superior communication and design abilities and proficient computer skills in the design and development of creative high quality, interactive materials
  • Applies superior judgment and political expertise to communicate sensitive information to, and collaborate with, a variety of internal and external stakeholders.
  • Applies project management methodologies in the design and development of various programs, frameworks and tools.
  • Physical ability to perform the duties of the position.
