The Supervisor, New Business oversees and provides direction to a team of New Business Associates ensuring that process and service levels are maintained to meet the high standards for customer service. This is a hybrid work opportunity, with the requirement to work in office a few days a week and from home a few days a week.


First 30 Days
  • Develop leadership role with direct team members and Client Services Management team
  • Engage in 1-on-1 meetings with New Business Associates to understand a day in their life
  • Meet with external department stakeholders to understand how departments interact on a day to day as it pertains to your role
  • Review of training material and resources as it pertains to systems and processes

First 60 Days
  • Can easily determine which department at GHG is responsible for specific lines of business/functions
  • Working understanding of each GroupHEALTH benefit and product offering
  • Develop relationships with Partners
  • Introduce and build relationships with other GH departments including Finance, Underwriting, and IT

First 90 Days
  • Assign new groups
  • Introduce and build relationships with other GH departments and teams including Underwriting, and IT, Client Service Leads
  • Full understanding on multiple carrier administrative guidelines
  • Leadership – a mentor for co-workers and team members while building and supporting teamwork
  • Identify a raving fan of your WOW! service within first 90 days

  • Distribution and assignment of new groups and divisions
  • Ensuring workloads are managed efficiently and conduct all performance related conversations
  • Provide leadership, coaching, and guidance and bridge culture across teams
  • Provide recommendations and make supported decisions on escalated client matters
  • Corresponding with Partners, clients, and insurers on escalated matters
  • Ensure adherence to processes, administrative guidelines, and SLA’s through reporting in CRM and smartsheet
  • Working with other departments to ensure cross departmental accuracy and efficiency
  • Maintenance of manuals and all reference material pertaining to new business and new division set up.
  • Performing other duties as assigned by management

Education & Experience
  • 3-5 years of related group benefits experience
  • Proficiency in office programs required
  • 1-2 years in a supervisory or Team Lead role
  • GBA Designation (or working towards) an asset
  • Experience with CRM systems an asset
  • LLQP an asset

Knowledge, Skills & Attributes
  • Strong computer skills including Microsoft Office
  • Proven attention to detail and analytical skills
  • Comfortable with presenting to groups and facilitating learning sessions
  • Ability to successfully manage and train others
  • Ability in assessing training needs, developing training recommendations
