West Fraser offers a range of exciting career opportunities for individuals seeking challenging and rewarding careers. Our Quesnel Plywood division in Quesnel, British Columbia, is recruiting for a Student Accounts Payable Clerk.

Reporting to the Financial Controller, this role on our Quesnel Plywood Finance team is a temporary summer position from May 1 to August 31 with possibility for extension.

You'll do:

Enter accounts payable into Oracle Financials
Ensure invoices and cheque requests are properly supported and approved
Review account coding and correct any miscoding
Ensure the accuracy of sales tax (GST and PST) and identify and calculate self-assessments where required
Match invoices to approval batches
Prepare account reconciliations
Manage front desk reception
Provide month end accounting support
Support to the team in additional junior duties as needed

You have:

Post-secondary training in administration or accounting or 1 to 2 years experience in a similar role
Experience in Oracle accounts payable is an asset
High degree of accuracy with numbers and strong attention to detail
Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills
Must be flexible and be able to adjust to changing workloads and tasks
Proficient with Microsoft Suite, advanced Excel skills
A self-starter with the initiative to learn and grow

Competitive base salary. The typical hourly rate range for this position is $20-$22, which may vary depending on location, education, and relevant experience.
