We are looking for a high-energy, curious, and results oriented individual to join the SBS Strategy and Planning team for the role of Strategy Manager. In this role, you will be responsible for the annual, quarterly, and monthly financial planning process for our segment. You will also be responsible to lead business casing, and deep dives geared towards executive decision support.

Here's the impact you'll make and what we'll accomplish together:

You will actively manage the SBS Wireline P&L, including interlocking with key stakeholders across various teams and business units. You will also contribute to key strategic initiatives such as strategy checks, board reviews, finance reviews, and other executive level forums. Working with marketing, finance, and strategy teams around the organization, you'll connect the dots between our day to day activities and the broader TELUS strategy to identify and solve important business challenges that are critical to our success.

Here's how
    •Own, manage and improve the SBS Wireline budget model, including annual budget creation and revenue/cost forecasting, and monthly triages
    •Serve as the key point of contact for the SBS Wireline P&L by collaborating with senior leadership, Finance, and working teams to provide P&L stewardship and drive strong business outcomes
    •Monitor performance of core key performance indicators (KPIs) including gross loading, deactivations, and average revenue per line (ARPL) and set targets by collaborating with senior leadership, Finance and working teams
    •Regularly analyze our results to identify financial business challenges and conduct analyses to support solving those challenges
    •Develop relationships not just within the SBS Wireline marketing team, but also across the rest of the organization to ensure there is a solid understanding of and alignment to our strategic priorities
    •Contribute to senior leadership presentations, including strategy checks, board advances, and monthly financial reviews


You are the missing piece of the puzzle:
    •Strong business acumen and proven ability to synthesize business results into actionable insights •Highly proficient in business and financial analysis with deep Microsoft Excel/PowerPoint and Google Spreadsheet/Presentation competence •Expert understanding of financial modeling and statistical forecasting techniques •Comfortable performing complex data analysis and presenting to key stakeholders •Proven, self-directed, hypothesis-driven problem solving approach •Consulting, strategy, and/or finance and accounting backgrounds •University degree and 3-5 years of building financial models, business cases, and strategic documents

    •Telecommunications expertise and/or wireless experience •SQL - experience writing queries to extract and manipulate data •DOMO experience •Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree •CPA / Chartered Financial Analyst Level 2 or similar designation
