We are looking to hire a Sr. Manager, Human Resources for our Software Development office located in Vancouver, BC who can drive strategic business initiatives as well as manage the tactical aspects of HR. This position will play a key role in streamlining HR processes and continuing to build an Amazon presence in Vancouver. The site currently has 1,000+ employees and will continue to grow.

In this role, you'll be involved in developing and executing the HR strategies that foster organizational and people effectiveness. To be successful in this role you will need to demonstrate analytical capabilities and be able to influence business leaders with data-driven recommendations in areas such as leadership development, performance management, employee relations, compensation and career development. You will need to interface effectively with professionals at all levels and collaborate extensively with HR colleagues in Seattle, WA to support the various teams at the site. You will also manage 3+ direct reports.

• Experience working in a start-up where your responsibilities stretch between strategic and tactical
• Demonstrated strong ownership and attention to detail
• Ability to travel on a quarterly basis


• 10+ years' work experience in an HR Generalist/Business Partner role including, performance management, change management, and employee communications
• Bachelor's degree in related discipline
• Superior employee relations and influencing skills
• Experience working with: Microsoft Office, project management software, SharePoint
• Knowledge of Canadian employment and immigration laws


• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Able to diagnose problems and identify and drive appropriate solutions
• Outstanding interpersonal and leadership skills; a role model for the use of the concepts and skills we teach and exceptional commitment to our Leadership Principles
• Able to manage workflow, with minimal oversight, in a fast-paced, frugal environment with multiple and sometimes changing priorities
• Able to work both on a team (as member and/or leader) and independently to deliver results
• CPHR designation preferred
• Master's degree preferred
