This enables us to execute the purchase and validation of lottery tickets at over 3500 lottery retailers, manage a complex network of 12,000 slot machines and electronic table games across the province and provide the backbone for BCLC's eGaming platform, and much more.

We have offices in Kamloops and Vancouver and can also support 100% remote (from within British Columbia) for this position.

Job Summary:

The Portfolio Specialist works with project stakeholders and product teams to identify the active initiatives across the organization and the reports the health of those initiatives. As part of the Portfolio capability, the Portfolio Specialist is the technical subject matter expert for portfolio life cycle management and portfolio analytics. The Portfolio Specialist assists with creating the enterprise reporting that communicates the timing and progress of initiatives. The Portfolio Specialist plays an integral part in understanding the performance and delivery of value back to the enterprise.

Key Accountabilities:
  • Performs portfolio analytics and provides analytic consulting and input/outputs of project & portfolio management (PPM) software. Establishes, maintains and delivers reporting metrics for multiple stakeholder groups, both financial and management, in support of BT and BCLC's strategic plan.
  • Develops data and reporting functionality, including reports and dashboards, based on requirements.
  • Develops and maintains Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and metrics that foster the measurement of throughput, velocity and overall delivery efficiency.
  • Recommends process efficiencies and improvements to project and portfolio management methodologies, including updating supporting documentation on a regular basis.
  • Leads, collaborates with and builds relationships with BT team members to provide insights into the overall success of delivery by product teams.
  • Performs access management, enhancements and ongoing maintenance of BT's PPM tool.
  • Supports project analyst duties such as purchase requisitions, budget forcasting, documentation reviews, onboarding and project coordination
  • Regularly collaborates with stakeholder groups to ensure data integrity and evolve reporting capabilities
  • Develops and delivers regular communications to the organization regarding portfolio. This may include maintaining Hub pages, Confluence sites, email communications, or verbal presentations.
  • Assist the Agile Practice in the development of product team metrics and transparency to support BCLCs initiative estimation and improve team performance.
Minimum Required Qualifications:
Education and Experience
  • A certificate or degree in Project Management, Business Analysis or a related discipline;
  • 3 to 5 years recent, related customer relationship experience and or I.T. experience;
  • Experience with project management software systems and Jira would be an asset;
  • An equivalent combination of education and/or experience may be considered.
Technical Requirements
  • Knowledge of business process engineering and of enabling technologies to support new processes;
  • Strong knowledge of program/project management methodologies;
  • Excellent business acumen;
  • Excellent facilitation and stakeholder engagement skills;
  • Exceptional problem solving and analytical thinking/innovation;
  • Exceptional time management and multi-tasking skills;
  • Demonstrated proficiency with PowerPoint, Word, Excel and Visio;
  • Ability to work with a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills;
  • Exceptional written, verbal communication and presentation skills;
  • Knowledge and experience with Cognos would be an asset;
  • Understanding of B.C. gaming industry would be an asset.
