Position Summary
Are you interested in an opportunity to grow professionally within a positive and progressive culture? Northern Health is seeking a Specialist, Data Governance.

The Specialist, Data Governance (DG) facilitates the execution of data governance activities including the adoption of an enterprise information and data quality program. The position promotes awareness of adherence to and compliance with Northern Health's related policies and procedures, the Information/Data Quality Framework and supporting structures and components. The DG Specialist supports Service Networks, Data Stewards, data governance working groups, teams, and individuals in successfully implementing and maintaining Data Governance processes as well as in the application of a Northern Health Information & Data Quality framework through a continuous quality improvement approach.

Starting salary will be approximately from $76,111 to $95,138 and will be based on education, training, experience, and salaries of similar positions.

Qualfications
• A level of education, training, and experience equivalent to a bachelor's degree in a health care, health information management, health informatics or information technology discipline.
• Relevant professional development in process improvement, change management, project management, group facilitation.
• Three (3) to five (5) years recent, related experience in data management, analytics, health information projects or programs of small to medium scale and complexity.
• Or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
• CHIMA and/or CPHIMS-CA certification is an asset.

Skills and Abilities:
• Strong understanding of data governance concepts.
• Strong understanding of regulatory structures, environment and expectations.
• Ability to build consensus with and/or gain acceptance from others (often in sensitive situations) while maintaining strong, positive relationships.
• Ability to guide, coach, teach, and promote a learning environment and continuous quality improvement.
• Strong documentation skills and demonstrated ability to develop detailed clinical or technical documentation, training aides and how-to documents, and track work activities or issues documentation.
• Intermediate computer skills and ability to work comfortably with spreadsheets, presentations, diagramming and word processing software (e.g. Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, Visio and Word).
• Ability to foster innovation throughout complex evolutionary change.
• Ability to see connections between issues, events, and data points and to think clearly around complex systems, bridging community issues and regional and provincial activities.
• Demonstrated strategic thinking and analytical skills.
• Superior small and large group facilitation skills and individual coaching skills.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills; ability to foster collaborative partnerships using a team approach.
• High level of motivation with a positive attitude and high degree of flexibility in a rapidly changing environment.
• Strong organizational skills and experience in project management; ability to organize and prioritize work and balance multiple activities concurrently.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Ability and willingness to travel.
• Physical ability to perform the duties of the position.
