API Gateway is the front-door of the Serverless revolution, an approach that lets customers turn business logic and application code into scalable, fault-tolerant production without requiring every developer to become an expert in , deployment technologies, and infrastructure management. API Gateway turns daunting tasks such as traffic management, authentication, and authorization, monitoring and API versioning into easily configurable steps. It then helps companies to build their developer eco- and turns their sets and business logic into new revenue streams.

In 2020, the API Gateway team created a new team in Vancouver, Canada that is building and expanding our API Management offering. You will be leading and owning the development of a net new feature that will expand our API Management product. We're looking for an engineer who has a strong sense of ownership and drive. You are one who to thrives when faced with ambiguous problems and are able to devise unique solutions for them from to production. You bring a balance of excellence, bias for action, and deliver results. All of that while guiding and mentoring junior developers along the way as you help shape the future of API management.


  • 2+ years of non-internship professional software development experience
  • 1+ years of experience contributing to the system design or architecture (architecture, design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and current systems.
  • Programming experience with at least one software programming language.

  • Bachelors or Masters Degree in Computer Science or a related field
  • 4+ years professional experience in software development.
  • Proficiency in Java or other languages such as Rust, Scala, Go, Ruby, C++, etc.
  • Experience in object-oriented development, data structures, algorithms, and problem solving.
  • Experience designing and building sophisticated fault-tolerant software.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, sense of ownership, urgency and drive.


  • Familiarity with the API Management eco-system
  • Experience developing and maintaining API's.
  • Experience designing, developing, and deploying large-scale customer facing applications.
  • Experience with operation of production systems.
  • Experience leading and mentoring junior engineers on good software practices and reviews.
  • Masters or PhD in Computer Science.
