A day in the life
The ideal candidate is passionate about Alexa and making people's life better. You have a demonstrable track record of success in delivering new features and products. You take pragmatic and iterative approach to building software: you have an ability to simplify and get things done, analyze customer feedback and focus on the most impactful and successful ideas customers need, fail fast, work effectively with external and internal teams. You have experience with large, architecturally complex eco-systems in both consumer and enterprise spaces.
You will be working on shared device set up configuration and management, integration with third-party calendar providers (Office365, Gsuite,Exchange), device reservation, and reporting usage to IT Admins. You will extensively use AWS technologies, and learn a lot about IoT. Often you will not have an industry precedence. Great imagination and passion to Invent & Simplify, Think Big, Ownership are very much needed in this role.
You are hands on leader who loves working closely with engineers to architect and develop robust, scalable technical designs. You are a coach, a mentor, attuned to people career aspirations, a leader who creates positive climate in the workspace.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related field
• 6+ years of experience designing and developing complex, interactive consumer applications as an engineer
• 5+ years of experience managing software development teams and with some hands-on architectural or distributed systems experience
• Knowledge of the tools of the trade, including a variety of modern programming languages (Java, JavaScript, C/C++, Objective C) and open-source technologies
• Experience in delivering software projects using Agile / Scrum methodologies
• Experience managing and leading engineering teams

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Experience taking a leading role in building complex software systems that have been successfully delivered to customers
• Knowledge of professional software engineering practices & best practices for the full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations
• Experience communicating with users, other technical teams, and senior management to collect requirements, describe software product features, technical designs, and product strategy
• Experience mentoring junior software engineers to improve their skills and make them more effective product software engineers
• Experience influencing software engineers' best practices within your team
• Hands-on expertise in many disparate technologies, ranging from front-end user interfaces through to back-end systems and all points in between
• Knowledge of Alexa
