AWS is excited to share that we're hiring for a team building a new AWS service from the ground up for the Media & Entertainment industry. Do you want to transform an entire market segment? Do you like to work with artists and creative people with a rich diversity of backgrounds?
The ideal candidate is excited about the potential of cloud computing and is passionate about delivering quality services in a hyper-growth environment where priorities can shift fast. You have a strategic focus, yet retain hands-on management as you build your team. You have had success leading operational services and are ready to apply that experience at even greater scale. You will own the goals and roadmap of your engineering team and will have a major stake in the strategic direction of your software.
Our team puts a value on work-life harmony. We are across many locations: Seattle, Palo Alto, San Francisco, LA, Vancouver and Winnipeg. In general, you are welcome to work from the office or remotely. We try to keep core availability hours from 10am to 4pm and we have our fair share of early birds and night owls so there is almost always someone available to chat, help or answer questions.
This position involves on-call responsibilities, typically 2-3 times a year. We don't like getting paged in the middle of the night or on the weekend, so we work to ensure that our are fault tolerant and that our alarms are well calibrated. Every week we review our operations as a team and audit our mechanisms to make it easier for our engineers and better for our customers. When we do get paged, we work together to resolve the root cause.
Mentorship & Career Growth
Developing our people is celebrated as part of our team culture. We are dedicated to supporting each other and you will get plenty of opportunities to share your unique knowledge and to mentor others. We believe that developing others is an integral part of developing yourself and we have a very diverse collection of backgrounds, levels of experience and Amazon tenure to support this.
Inclusive Team Culture
Our team is intentional about attracting, developing, and retaining amazing talent from diverse backgrounds. Yes we do get to build a really cool service, but we also think a big reason for that is the inclusive and welcoming culture that we cultivate every day.
We're looking for a leader who is enthusiastic, empathetic, curious, motivated, reliable, and able to work effectively with a diverse team of peers; someone who will help us amplify the positive & inclusive team culture we've been building.
Here at AWS, we embrace our differences. We are committed to furthering our culture of inclusion. We have ten employee-led affinity groups, reaching 40,000 employees in over 190 chapters globally. We have innovative benefit offerings, and we host annual and ongoing learning experiences, including our Conversations on Race and Ethnicity (CORE) and AmazeCon (gender diversity) conferences. Amazon's culture of inclusion is reinforced within our 14 Leadership Principles, which remind team members to seek diverse perspectives, learn and be curious, and earn trust.BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
