Want to make history and be a part of something incredible? Amazon Web Services is looking for an experienced engineering leader to define and build the future of Internet of Things (IoT). AWS IoT recently announced AWS IoT Things Graph (https://aws.amazon.com/iot-things-graph/), a service that helps customers do more with their IoT devices by enabling them to build IoT . This service represents the next step in IoT, where once customers have connected their devices to AWS IoT, they can build intelligent where devices can reason, interact with each other, and form closed loop and eventually of - think smart cities, intelligent transportation , and robotics!
We are seeking innovative, focused and practical engineers to join us as we build multiple new services. As a software engineer, you will work closely with senior engineers, contribute to overall architecture, and own and deliver operationally sustainable web services to AWS customers. Along the way, you will learn how to build scalable and work with some of the brightest minds in the IoT space.
Our Software Engineers do so much more than just write code. SDEs contribute and influence across the Software Lifecycle, whether in requirements definition, architectural , , deployment, or closing the loop from operational software on to the next cycle of idea generation.
Our team puts a value on work-life balance. Most days, our entire team is co-located in the Seattle or Vancouver office, but we're also flexible when people occasionally need to work from home. We generally avoid early or late meetings to maintain that flexibility.
This position involves on-call responsibilities, typically for one week every two months. We don't like getting paged in the middle of the night or on the weekend, so we work to ensure that our are fault tolerant. When we do get paged, we work together to resolve the root cause so that we don't get paged for the same issue twice.

• 2+ years of non-internship professional software experience
• Programming experience with at least one modern language such as , C++, or including object-oriented design
• 1+ years of experience contributing to the architecture and design (architecture, design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and current .
• 4+ years of experience developing objected-oriented software, with mastery of one or more relevant languages (, , C++, Ruby, etc.)PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
