The primary responsibility of the Service Planner will be the creation of a global plan that supports our service expectations while minimizing inventory exposure.

Requirements:
    • Gather, analyze and validate data used to prepare service forecasts. • Consult with Product Managers and Service Manager to obtain relevant data and insights on demand. • Review historical trends, incorporate relevant demand drivers, and apply forecast model to develop service forecast requirements through end of service life. • Develop and maintain service inventory distribution plan to regional plants and warehouses that supports service levels while minimizing inventory exposure and maximizes business targets. • Work with Service Manager to understand refurbishment strategy by product and define planning requirements to load ERP accordingly. • Work with regional Supply Planners to manage production refurbishment requirements to meet inventory and service expectations. • Develop materials and information to support Service Operations business review meetings. • Measure and report on aging inventory of all material types and statuses. • Project and report on expected inventory position at end of service life for maturing product families. • Review, assess and identify opportunities to manage and mitigate inventory risk. • Report on service forecast accuracy and resulting inventory impact. • Coordinate cross-functional activities to reconcile significant forecast variances. • Work with Purchasing on procurement strategies of raw materials required to support service demand through EOL. • Drive continuous improvement in Service planning processes. • Provide input to the development of inventory policies and planning parameters.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
    • Strong communication skills (written, verbal and presentation) • Strong computer skills and Advanced Level Excel are required • Working knowledge of ERP systems, within a manufacturing environment required • Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment required • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of changing situations • Excellent organization, time management, and follow-up skills • Ability to take initiative and exercise excellent judgment • Post-secondary degree or equivalent experience • APICS Certification preferred • Preference for operations management or supply chain background • Minimum 3 years prior experience in a similar planning role • Working knowledge of SAP is an asset
