The Business Product Marketing organization, is a place to realize personal growth and work on programs that have a huge impact on TELUS' long term strategy. Within this organization, you will work as part of the Business Capital Leadership Team (BCLT) to provide strategic planning, governance and guidance to program teams for capital investments for TELUS Business Solutions, Partner Solutions and the "GoCo" organizations.

Capital is a limited essential resource that drive our business growth. Capital is required to fuel new deals and revenue; it is required for systems and operational improvements, and it is required to develop strategic capabilities and products for future growth. As a Senior Strategy Manager, you will develop and manage a capital budget that fully supports the realization of our strategic plans. You will act as the control point to ensure execution of the plan, identifying risk and opportunities and rebalancing investments as required to improve returns and manage cash flow. When capital constraints arise, you'll overcome these by facilitating the right prioritization decisions and communicate transparently to stakeholders so they can do their part.

Here's how
    •As an expert in the field and a creative innovator, you'll:
      •gather insights from business unit stakeholders to develop a capital plan that fully supports our business unit plans for revenue growth, service development and transformation
      •provide program and people leadership, including coaching and developing team members on financial policies and capital cost efficiency
      •support the development of driver-based models and capital unit costs across business units
      •lead the measurement and reporting of capital performance on a business segment or product portfolio view
      •be a champion for the transformation of capital management - challenge the status quo, have the curiosity to ask why, and inspire others to share new ideas
    •As a business partner, you'll:
      •cultivate collaborative relationships and trust with various stakeholders and groups from across the organization
      •have the ability to lead through influence without direct management control
      •assist in optimizing our capital planning process to adapt to changing market conditions and business priorities
      •resolve issues and conflicts arising from competing priorities, change and ambiguity to drive buy-in across functional teams
      •be comfortable dealing with all levels of management including senior executives
      •provide support to the Investment Program Management (IPM) on the capital demands, risks and performance of TELUS Business Solutions
    •As a collaborative team member, you'll:
      •develop an annual capital plan for success based capital and strategic investments gaining full approval by all BCLT stakeholders
      •review EASE model and challenge business case assumptions to govern the benefits stated in the business model and perform variance analysis
      •develop standardized templates to capture capital requirements, priorities and financial impacts from all product portfolios and enabling business units
      •develop and share lessons learned and post-mortem project review results to BCLT and CLT
      •seek ways to collaborate with other capital leadership teams to apply "best practice" methodologies to our capital management, governance and planning processes
    •As an engaging communicator, you'll:
      •Communicate key messages, requests and updates with clarity and tailored to a diverse range of cross functional teams and various levels of leaders
      •Make formal presentations with confidence to various stakeholders


Qualifications:


You are the missing piece of the puzzle
    •Demonstrated business and financial acumen
    •Confident, "can-do" approach - highly self-directed and self-motivated with proven ability to work in the face of ambiguity
    •Strong analytical skills and problem solving skills with ability to challenge conventional thinking
    •A strong background and understanding of storytelling for business with excellent interpersonal, communication (verbal and written), and presentation skills
    •With expert working knowledge of Google suite including Google Slides, Google Sheets and Google Docs and MS Office suite including Excel, PowerPoint and Word to create presentations and detailed capital governance models
    •Minimum of 5 or more years of business management experience - capital management experience desired
    •Undergraduate degree ideally in Business, Finance, Accounting or Engineering
    •MBA or Financial/Accounting certifications a definite asset
