This role sits at the centre of TELUS Customer Network Implementation (CNI) strategy. You will provide direct strategic support for our Vice President and leadership team to set the path for CNI in alignment with Customer Service Excellence (CSE) by priming key executive deliverables, aligning initiatives to key strategic priorities, and as a key contributor to overall CNI strategy & planning.

CNI is responsible for TELUS' wireline investment, a key element of TELUS' annual ~$2.9 billion in capital expenditure. We continue to focus on investments in broadband infrastructure, including connecting more homes and businesses directly to TELUS PureFibre.

We are seeking a generalist with a high degree of emotional intelligence, thought leadership, and who is known for the ability to deliver with excellence to drive alignment between our strategic priorities and investment goals.

You have a natural ability to form strong working relationships and transform complicated and challenging into clear and simple.

You are comfortable working with all levels of our organization, including senior executives.

As a result, we will continue to power wireline growth for TELUS, and directly support exciting 5G capabilities coming for our customers.

    Strategy: you will help lead TELUS's evolution of CNI strategy with alignment to and in collaboration with our peers in CSE •Culture & Structure: with your strong strategic track record you'll collaborate with key stakeholders to ensure our culture, structure, resources, and scorecard align to our strategic imperatives •Leadership: part of your role will be to prime leadership team events and agendas to ensure proactive risk management (opportunities & threats) are identified, discussed, and actioned accordingly •Executive partnership: we will look to you to provide direct support for the VP CNI •Presentations & Storytelling: with your excellent communication skills you'll prime/consult on content build for exec level content and presentations for Strat Check, Consumer Capital, and Board level sessions •Portfolio management: we will look at you to support various strategic development ad hoc requests from the leadership team and key stakeholders •Governance: you'll be charged with leading weekly governance to ensure all initiatives within the portfolio maintain at high standards and aligned with our strategy •Reporting & Performance: additionally, you'll work with peers to ensure strong, quantifiable returns in support of TELUS' strong balance sheet •Collaborate: act as a trusted partner with a broad group of cross-functional stakeholders to drive improvements on behalf of our customers


You're the missing piece of the puzzle
    •The ideal candidate would have a working knowledge of strategic planning methodologies, strategy frameworks and an understanding of TELUS, or a broad background in the telecommunications industry would be equally advantageous •You will need familiarity with wireline build operations, customer service delivery & digital transformation as well as the ability to clearly articulate complex concepts and storylines through various mediums, especially Google Slides & Docs in the language of many different audiences •You should have a high degree of comfort and confidence working directly with VP, SVP level and higher as you'll be distilling presentations to a "C" suite audience •As such, it's a given that you'll have strong interpersonal skills and ability to build strong working relationships and the ability to handle multiple initiatives and prioritize effectively •An important facet is the ability to demonstrate structured thinking and application to solve problems as well as an analytical mindset and strong critical thinking skills, coupled with exceptional attention to detail •Having a University degree in Business, Finance, Engineering or other quantitative discipline or an MBA would be an asset •6+ years in a strategy, planning or analytical role
