As a Senior SQL Server DBA
you'll be working closely alongside development teams, application support teams, and testing teams. You'll be actively involved in project design, execution, and testing. You'll tackle complex problems, propose robust solutions, and deliver detailed production deployment plans. Your work will ensure smooth production deployment and optimized performance, availability, and security after deploym. Note: This is a 6 month contract position, with possibility of renewal. What you'll be doing:
• Reviewing business requirements and analyzing existing environments • Proposing, architecting, and implementing solutions for SQL Server database projects • Building SQL Server clusters and standalone SQL database servers • Deploynig SQL Server databases • Proposing, defining, and implementing SQL Server database migration solutions • Working with project teams to resolve a variety of database, application, performance, and security issues • Defining and testing detailed lower environment and production deployment plans to ensure a smooth production deployment • Providing post deployment support as needed What you'll need to succeed:
• 7+ years of professional experience working in IT infrastructure • 7+ years of experience supporting mission-critical 24/7 databases • 5+ years of experience implementing, managing, and performance tuning Clustered SQL Server databases in mission critical, production environments • 5+ years of experience providing timely and accurate problem resolution and/or recovery for SQL Server database issues • Bachelor's degree in computer science, computer engineering, or a related discipline • Oracle OCP certification, MCSE data management and analytics training, and in-depth training of Windows and Windows clusters • Direct experience building SQL Server 2012/14/16 in production-clustered and standalone databases • Direct experience upgrading SQL Server 2008/12/14/16/16 in a production environment • Highly collaborative mindset that allows you to build trust and accountability • Natural curiosity to explore and entertain fresh ideas and feedback • Ability to embrace change with positivity and enthusiasm
