Amazon Web Services (AWS) is looking for an experienced and highly motivated technical manager to coach, grow, and partner with skilled Solutions Architects focusing on our Non-Profit (NPO) customers across a broad range of technologies. Working closely with AWS Sales, AWS service teams and business development colleagues, you will drive strategic growth across a broad set of customers and partners.

In this role, you will build, lead and grow a high performing team of experienced technical professionals. You will have exceptional communication skills, stakeholder management skills, executive presence and ability to build relationships at all levels with our NPO customers and with our internal teams.

You will need to have proven technical capabilities as well as demonstrated effectiveness in shaping the customer-facing and technical skills of your team. In addition to technical knowledge and leadership experience it is important to have a solid, contemporary understanding of Cloud Computing. You will help team members ramp up on AWS and develop speaking, writing, presentation, and executive interaction skills. You will need to be adept at interacting, communicating and partnering with other departments within AWS such as our Services Teams, Marketing, Business Development and the broader Solutions Architecture Organization, as well as representing your team to executive management.

Key job responsibilities
• Serve as a leader for the SA team and a key member of the sales team.

• Build strong executive relationships with AWS's Non-Profit customers from C level executives through to technical leaders and influencers.

• In partnership with the sales and business development teams, formulate and execute a strategy to drive successful customer outcomes

• Hire, on-board, train, and develop new Solutions Architects

• Capture and share best-practice knowledge amongst the AWS Solutions Architect community

• Create and motivate the development of whitepapers, data sheets, and other high-value customer facing guidance and best practices

• Act as a conduit and liaison between customers, service engineering teams and support

Location preference is Vancouver or Toronto.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

• 2+ years in a technical team manager role with experience hiring, developing, and retaining high quality technical talent serving enterprise customers
• 7+ years experience in design/implementation/consulting of distributed applications and/or infrastructure
• English skills (reading, writing and speaking)
• Ability to travel up to 10% as needed for training, customer briefings, industry conferences, and/or customer remote locations
• Bachelor's Degree in math, engineering, computer science or related field or equivalent experience

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Experience working in, selling to, or providing consulting/solutions to the Non-Profit and/or Public Sector customers
• Experience designing, building, and implementing cloud solutions
• A passion for leading diverse teams
• Presentation skills with a high degree of comfort speaking with executives, managers, and architects
• Demonstrated ability to adapt to new technologies and learn quickly
• A Master's Degree in Math, Computer Science, Science, Business or Engineering
