Senior Software Developer

We are looking for a Senior Software Developer!

The development team at Drop Manufacturing is looking to hire a Senior Developer who is passionate about leading a group of eager, bright developers as the team develops solutions to meet modern manufacturing needs. We are interested in anyone who has experience developing large scale data driven applications. The role will focus on both front-end UI and backend business logic.

Successful applicants will work hybrid from our office in South Slocan. Hybrid is required as our environment offers many opportunities to experiment, share ideas and collaborate.

Education, Experience, Skills and Abilities Requirements

• 5+ years’ experience developing, designing and supporting enterprise applications in a professional environment preferred.
• 5+ years’ experience analyzing and translating business requirements into technology solutions that consider system performance, usability, quality, cross-system interdependencies, and scalability.
• 2+ years’ experience leading a team.
• Participate in PoCs (Proof of Concept) and help the Department with selection of Vendor Solutions, Technologies, Methodologies and Frameworks.
• Proven experience delivering an application from design to market.
• Desire to mentor and develop the skills of other team members.
• Experience developing and or consuming web services (SOAP, REST, XML).
• Strong knowledge of relational databases and schema. Preferably PostgreSQL.
• Has experience architecting applications and deploying to Cloud Providers like Google Cloud, AWS or Azure that scale.
• Communicates complex ideas clearly and with clarity to both technical and non-technical staff.
• Experience with Agile development methodologies.
• Experience with Object Oriented Programming. Experience or interest in Functional Programming can be an asset.
• Minimum bachelor’s degree in computer science, mathematics, physics or strongly related field.

Expectations?

As the Senior Developer, you will help our team by enforcing a high level of coding practices through code reviews, presentations and pair programming. You will aid junior and intermediate developers gain experience with technologies and skills they may be unfamiliar with in a structured forward-thinking manner. This includes enforcing coding practices that prioritize reuse, maintainability and readability.
