Quester Tangent is seeking an experienced engineer to join our dynamic sales team. We are looking for an outgoing team player with excellent technical and people skills to support our push to grow sales. Working on the sales team, you will evaluate bid specifications and design systems to comply with their requirements in order to win new business.

Your primary goal will be to read/evaluate specifications and work with customers to create systems made of QT and 3rd party equipment to meet their design requirements. This opportunity provides a significant way to advance your knowledge of sales, marketing and business with a key focus on promoting QT to meet customer needs.

This position reports to the Director of Sales and Marketing, and includes the following roles and responsibilities:

  • Read and evaluate tenders and proposals
  • Create technical bid packages including: compliance matrices, bid databases, scope of supply, gap analysis, architecture diagrams etc.
  • Research 3rd party equipment for use in building our systems (i.e. modems, routers, etc.)
  • Support creation and signoff of commercial packages out of your technical packages
  • Communicate with customers (phone, email, in person) to discuss project details
  • Collaborate with internal teams to define the offer for each bid including: recommended architectures/solutions (including software, hardware, networks and services)
  • Manage your personal sales pipeline of opportunities

Required Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science or equivalent
  • 10+ years industry experience in electrical/computer engineering or equivalent
  • Ability to understand requirements and propose technical architectures to meet them
  • Good written and spoken communication skills
  • Comfortable working in a team environment and with minimal supervision
  • Some travel required (4-6 times per year typical)
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office – especially Word, Excel, Visio and PowerPoint

Desired Qualifications

  • Salesforce or CRM Sales opportunity management experience
  • Customer management and sales experience is an asset
  • Familiarity with QT products
