Position Summary:

To help fuel our growth, we are looking for a detail-oriented, goal-driven, high-energy Senior Quality Assurance Engineer to expand our Technology team. You will have extensive experience in writing manual test cases and creating automated scripts and will have experience leading and mentoring a team of QA staff. This role will report to the QA Manager. This is a full-time position in our downtown Vancouver HQ, walking distance from shops, restaurants, and public transit.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Work with our QA team in an Agile environment to plan, execute, and monitor tests
  • Analyze and publish test results and interpretation, within scheduled deadlines in reports
  • Work closely with Software Engineers and Product Owners to capture testing requirements for new projects
  • Define testing strategies and own quality bar for our products
  • Ensure each product release meets highest quality standards
  • Write high quality test code to expand and maintain automated test suites (both UI and API)
  • Setup test data as required to reproduce issues and execute edge test cases
  • As needed, assist support with reproducing, diagnosing and resolving customer issues
  • Mentor other test engineers on the team

Key/Technical Skills:

  • Experience performing quality assurance for a web based software products: functional, cross-browser, stress/performance and API testing
  • Experience in the design, development and maintenance of an automation framework and automated tests
  • Experience in deployment using solutions (ex. Testrail, Octopus, Teamcity)
  • Experience tracking server logs on issues using like Kibana
  • Extensive testing experience with web technologies (ex. HTML, JavaScript, CSS, XPATH and REST API)
  • Strong experience with source control systems (ex. Bitbucket, Git or SVN)
  • Solid experience writing code using high level programming languages (ex. JavaScript, C#, .NET, Java, Python) and executing automation test scripts using software testing frameworks (ex. JMeter, Selenium, TestComplete, SOAPUI, LoadUI and TestRail)
  • Experience with using AWS DynamoDB or RDS, and Sandbox or MockServer is an asset
  • Self-starter looking to learn and contribute significantly to the team

Education and Experience:

  • 8+ years of diverse software engineering test experience
  • BSc degree in Computer Science, engineering or equivalent
