Reporting to Manager, Maintenance Strategy, the Senior Project Lead, Maintenance Strategy is responsible for the governance of major projects, critical asset strategies, asset health processes, standards and supporting key success factors associated value delivery.

This person can prioritize competing tasks and remain organized in a dynamic environment. Most importantly, they can communicate and present on priorities, success factors, risks and opportunities to the program team and steering committee.

Responsibilities:
  • Be a courageous safety leader, adhere to and sponsor safety and environmental rules and procedures
  • Assure the effective application of project processes, including the Teck Project Delivery Framework, management of change, project charter development, including success criteria, and project execution
  • Deliver strategic maintenance strategy objectives, including health and safety, environmental compliance, schedule, cost, and quality
  • Direct, prioritize, manage and deliver program goals in collaboration with key maintenance partners across Teck
  • Govern strategic priorities to achieve critical milestones to support a $500M margin improvement pipeline
  • Provide direction to identify strengths, critical issues, and areas of risks/exposure in the execution of the program, including quantifying project risks that impact safety, cost, production and quality
  • Ensure effective communications and collaboration with all collaborators and implement change management activities, including operational readiness
  • Lead, train, and mentor staff, facilitate development opportunities, and complete evaluations
  • Integrate activity planning on a daily, weekly, and monthly basis to support cost management, reliability, and asset lifecycle performance
  • Coordinate with RACE™ and other partners to incorporate new technologies in Maintenance Strategy

Qualifications:
  • Degree in Engineering or Science with preference for Project Management Professional designation or Quality Assurance Certification
  • Minimum seven years of experience in project management, design and construction management
  • Knowledge and experience in workflows of engineering and non-engineering disciplines and organization dynamics
  • Experience in a leadership role in implementation and use of project control systems and procedures
  • Experience with a 'stage gate' approach to project delivery
  • Understanding of Condition Monitoring techniques, Reliability Centered Maintenance, Failure Modes/Effects Analysis, and Root Cause Analysis
  • Experience in the mining industry is an asset
