SAP and the SAP customers are faced with an increasingly complex global environment in which to operate their businesses. This is especially true in the rapidly progressing area of Cloud compliance. The Regulatory Affairs department at SAP Legal is responsible for providing a coherent, consistent, and reliable approach to Cloud compliance at SAP.

Cloud Standards and Tooling is a solution-oriented team within the SAP Regulatory Affairs department. The Cloud Standards and Tooling team is responsible to innovate and scale Cloud compliance activities by (i) building a harmonized framework that will be used to easily represent Cloud compliance requirements for SAP teams and (ii) driving the development of specific tooling and the tooling strategy for Cloud compliance at SAP. The team works cross functionally with subject matter experts across SAP who are responsible for achieving Cloud compliance for the SAP operating business and the SAP products.

The primary responsibilities of the Strategy and Delivery Lead role are to:

  • Product manage the Regulatory Compliance Framework solution, a tool used at SAP to support product compliance during the development process and to provide a framework for more widespread Cloud compliance management processes
  • Orchestrate a harmonized Cloud compliance tooling strategy and roadmap on behalf of the Regulatory Affairs department

This role is critical to establishing a coherent and consistent Cloud compliance tool strategy and delivery of one key solution within the compliance tooling portfolio for the Cloud Standards and Tooling mission. This will improve scalability for compliance activities, better enable business owners and impacted units to drive through compliance activities and produce more consistent and reliable results from the compliance topics.

In this role you will work closely with colleagues in Legal, Security, Data Protection & Export Control, Government Relations, and other compliance and technical functions including Product Development, Cloud Operations, and the Operating Lines of Business to achieve the required Cloud compliance results in a collaborative and constructive manner.

Product Management
  • Develop the business and technical specifications for the Regulatory Compliance Framework solution
  • Evolve the overall vision and roadmap for the RCF solution jointly with internal stakeholders and users
  • Work with the core development team to describe the requirements and specifications, validate designs, and provide general feedback on the solution
  • Work with the Cloud standards team members to ensure suitable integration of the Cloud standards foundation in the RCF solution
  • Drive the tooling requirements with an experienced group of users, collecting new requirements, building tool designs, and validating the resulting solutions
  • Orchestrate the roll-out and usage of the tool with compliance drivers, project managers, and end-users


Product Management
  • The ability to take a product from concept through to delivery and ongoing support
  • Ability to grasp technical information technology concepts, for the Cloud, mobile, and on-premise, and translate them for legal, regulatory, and compliance subject matter experts
  • Ability to translate the related business requirements into terms the development team can understand
  • Superior visual communication and analytic skills
  • Ability to facilitate workshops and team activities
  • Structured problem-solving and analytical skills with the ability to analyze and define technical and business processes
  • User Experience design skills are not mandatory but would be an asset

Project Management
  • Proven success shaping projects and deliverables with clarity of outcome and the ability to task out and drive a project in a streamlined structure
  • Ability to drive cross-functional teams locally and remotely

  • Strong team player and networker, able to connect and integrate people with different skills, backgrounds
  • Client-focused and service orientated with a strong focus on collaboration
  • Strong intercultural skills

  • Minimum 6years managing the requirements for a successful internal or commercial product development with minimum of 50 end-users
  • Demonstrated success driving product development from concept through to delivery and roll-out to end-users
  • Experience developing and rolling out basic training and communication materials
  • Demonstrated experience in managing issues, scope and quality while bringing programs and projects to successful completion within the cost and time requirements
  • Proven experience in initiating, engaging with, and managing cross-board area initiatives involving senior stakeholders

  • Master's Degree in Business Administration, Computer Science, Management Information Systems, or equivalent information technology degree OR a Bachelor's degree with a suitable level of demonstrated senior experience
  • Formal project management training together with training and/or experience in agile project execution methods will be a recognized asset


Excellent written and spoken English skills are required
