About this team:
To oversee the creation and commercialization of premium performance product ensuring it is performing for the intended end use and is meeting the required quality standards through lab and wear testing in accordance with lululemon business goals.
A day in the life:
· Manage developments, overseeing commercialization of product from sketch to order placement
· Mentor junior team members; leading by example to drive conversations forward and gain cross functional alignment
· Mentor development team by sharing & maximizing best practices, new methods, concepts, & functional expertise
· Organize daily work flow that adheres to GTM deliverables & development timelines
· Develop and create tech packs in Flex PLM to communicate requirements for Design aesthetic, cost, and construction engineering
· Lead sample review meetings and drive conversations to align cross functional teams on style, cost, and development goals
· Ensure construction and consistency across product class according to established brand guidelines
· Build vendor & cross-functional relationships through effective email correspondence and meetings
· Effectively present sample changes, challenges, and solutions at GTM meetings
· Own special projects and prepare for commercialization; finalize & roll out to greater team
· Maintain 100% buy ready product through seasonal readiness and risk assessment management
Qualifications:
· Bachelor’s degree in a related discipline or equivalent professional experience
· 8+ years industry experience in product development and innovation
· 5+ years working with with manufacturers across Asia, Americas, and Europe
· Experience in 3D software a plus
· Organized and methodical approach to daily tasks
· Quick learner and able to effectively problem solve
· Passionate about product and innovating the function of premium performance products
· Extensive technical knowledge for product and function; specifically in performance product and function
· Team player able to work easily with others and experienced working closely with design, raw materials, sourcing, merchandising and quality team members
· Passion for mentorship and teaching
· Approaches problem solving with conceptual and out of the box thinking
· Expert in building BOMs, production friendly construction details, and technical package creation
· Detailed understanding of product creation calendar and working under tight deadlines
· Proficiency in MS office (Excel/Word/Outlook), Adobe Design Suite (Illustrator and Photoshop)
· Proficiency in Flex PLM or similar PLM software
· Excellent written and verbal communication skills
· High attention to detail, data accuracy, and prioritization
· Flexible attitude to change
· Ability to lift 10kg as needed
