The Senior Manager, Information Governance will lead organization-wide data governance activities and will have responsibility for establishing and maintaining a data governance framework that seeks to improve data quality, accelerate the creation of value from BCAA's data and information assets, and improve the efficiency of our analytics teams and data users around the organization. The role will ensure adherence to the enterprise data governance framework to achieve the required level of consistency, quality and understanding required to meet overall business needs. The role will serve as a point of escalation for governance, data quality and other related issues, and will work closely with business teams in all parts of the organization to improve the quality and value of core data assets, respond to regulatory protection requirements as well as support the strategic direction of the organization.

Key Responsibilities Include
Data Strategy and Adoption

•Represent data as a strategic business asset across the organization, contributing to long range data strategy and valuation.
•Support and enable collaboration across the different areas of the business to democratize information and ensure there are no 'data silos'.
•Promote and highlight opportunities to use data and information assets in decision making across the organization.
•Identify new business opportunities pertaining to the use of information assets.
•Provide recommendations or frameworks for coordination of external data sources to eliminate redundancy and streamline the expense related to those services.
•Drive and influence decision making around data policy and capabilities.

Data Quality, Curation and Operations

•Develop business glossary, data definitions, data dictionary, taxonomies, ownership profiles, access roles, usage profiles, mapping documents and artifacts to support data democratization throughout the enterprise.
•Define roles and responsibilities related to data governance and ensure clear accountability for stewardship of the company's information assets.
•Develop and implement policies, procedures and systems required to develop overall data accessibility, modeling and quality goals.
•Hold business, project leads and technology SMEs accountable for adherence to data policy requirements, including demonstration of assigned roles and responsibilities, as well as the ongoing tracking and resolution of issues.
•Resolve issues escalated from Business and Functional area's data governance representatives.
•Actively engage in identifying continuous improvement opportunities to better manage structured and unstructured data both on premise and on the cloud.
•Assist in the development of a Data University program to help ensure enterprise wide enablement and adoption of data driven decisioning.
•Develop, implement and oversee an insight repository to share analyses, knowledge, key findings, code and approaches with the intent of improving efficiency of analytics teams and speed to extract value from data assets.

Minimum Qualifications
Required skills

•Bachelor's degree or post graduate degree. Bachelor's degree in a relevant discipline. Advanced degree preferred.
•8+years of professional business experience with a progressive track record of accomplishments in Information Governance or Data Management or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
•Extensive experience in developing, planning and executing data management and/or data governance improvement initiatives. •Experience driving change for data governance including: project/program management, software development life cycle methodologies, data quality, metadata software packages, metadata, and architecture. •Knowledge of industry leading data quality and data protection management practices. •Knowledge of data governance practices, business and technology issues related to management of enterprise information assets and approaches related to data protection. •Demonstrated consulting skills, with change management concepts and strategies, including communication, culture change and performance measurement system design. •Knowledge of risk management and compliance methodologies regarding data. •Knowledge of data architecture and technology solutions. •Internally and/or externally recognized subject matter expert that influences the organization's behavior of perspective toward data governance. •Ability to articulate vision of transformation efforts and a sense of mission. •Willingness to empower change and provide direction. •Ability to manage through influence, and drive actions or team work through consultative and collaborative leadership. •Results orientation, willingness to commit to a direction and drive operations to completion.

Desired Skills

•Experience with leading, facilitation, and coaching. •Experience with Alation or other crowd sourced data governance tools. •Track record of data or information governance consulting experience. •Ability to work independently, with minimal hands on support required. •Knowledge of data related government regulatory requirements and emerging trends and issues which may impact the industry. •Ability to operate at all levels of the organization, including executive level.
