Senior High Rise Plumbing & HVAC Designer / Project Manager: Harvey 2336
We are currently looking for a Senior High Rise Residential Plumbing & HVAC Designer and Project Manager, for our engineering company located in Vancouver BC.
Responsibilities / Duties:
As a team leader in the Plumbing Design team and as a Project Manager on project management.
Develop technical designs concept and system to ensure the deliverables that meets quality parameters, project timelines and budgetary requirements
Perform technical reviews and edits drawings as required and reviews plumbing and HVAC design requirements to offer recommendations and create drawings to support constructions projects
Direct design activities such as calculations, code research, material and building systems research, laying out components and calculation of program and building areas; refine and direct the refinement of design options and develop engineering details
Synthesize, interpret and coordinate technical information to write engineering specifications for Project Manuals
Maintain familiarity with current industry trends, techniques and developments to ensure specifications are in compliance with regulatory requirements and all applicable codes
Act as a single point of contact on project
Process permit response letters and coordinates revisions with architects and other consultants, as required, to obtain necessary documentation and permits
Attend meetings to coordinate drawings and resources, determine project criteria and provide information
Perform site visits to determine compliance with construction documents; identify any deviations and liaise with owner and contactor to resolve issues in a timely manner
Review project products, services and shop drawings to ensure adherence to project documents, relevant jurisdictional codes and corporate quality controls
Lead junior and intermediate plumbing design staffs throughout all phases of project
Manage the delivery of all projects under direct supervision; ensure a high level of service and support to the client
Share expert knowledge of current plumbing, fire protection, and gas design techniques, building systems, design trends and developments to improve the technical skills of the team and ensures they are implemented on project work
Support, coach and mentor other team members as required by sharing knowledge and expertise
Required Qualification / Skills:
Have successfully completed related post-secondary education
Is proficient in Microsoft Office (i.e. Excel and Outlook) and experienced using Engineering software including AutoCAD
Have at least 10 years of experience in design of plumbing/drainage, natural gas system and Heating, Air Conditioning and Ventilation System
Is well versed in the relevant sections of the VBBL, BCBC, NBC, NPC, CSA and NFPA series, including the preparation of load calculations and pipe sizing for domestic water, storm and sanitary drainage systems
Possess experience in project management and project delivery and in providing direction to other members of the Engineering team
Demonstrate an ability to collaborate with other professional disciplines
CET certification is required. P. Eng. is an asset
This is a fulltime position
Salary is open depending on experience
