The Senior Financial Accountant will be responsible for the accounting activities related to Financial Reporting Team.
These duties include BS reconciliations, bank reconciliations, cash flow reporting, monthly, quarterly and annual reporting, and annual audit files preparation, monthly tax remittance, annual budgeting and quarterly reforecasts, assisting with preparation of consolidated financial statements, preparing the quarterly consolidation entries, Deferred Income taxes schedule.

Outcomes:

Within first 3 months:
  • Develop a strong understanding of the Financial Reporting team accounting functions.
  • Complete the training on BS reconciliations and get familiar with all BS accounts and types of transactions
  • Complete training on Cash Flow reporting and monthly bank reconciliations
  • Training on Month end closing and reporting requirements
  • Gain understanding with different types of Month end journal entries
  • Learning the customized Dynamics GP settings and applying these skills when preparing reconciliations
  • Monthly Tax remittances
  • Complete training on PP&E and intangibles schedules as well

Within first 6 months:
  • Learn the accounting functions and reporting requirements for different entities
  • Training on quarterly reporting and reforecasting
  • Annual budgeting
  • Annual audit files preparation
  • Bank administration (opening accounts, bank services requests)
  • Weekly Cash Reporting
  • Daily banking and bank reconciliations
  • Month-End Journal Entries
  • Balance Sheet Reconciliation and analysis
  • Tax remittances
  • Monthly, quarterly and annual reporting and Financial statements preparation
  • Annual Budgeting and quarterly reforecasting
  • Annual Audit files preparation
  • Quarterly PP&E and intangibles schedules preparation
  • Quarterly tax schedules preparation
  • Fixed assets schedule preparation for various entities
  • Assisting with preparation of consolidated financial statements
  • Completion of monthly intercompany invoicing
  • Complete training on Consolidation Workbook and quarterly Consolidation entries

Education and Experience:
  • Completion of a degree or diploma in accounting
  • Minimum 5 years of accounting experience
  • MS Excel – Advanced level
  • Experience with Month end closing
  • Experience with Dynamics GP is an asset
  • Experience with Group Benefits is an asset
  • Actively enrolled in CPA program (close to completion)
