The Senior DevOps Specialist is part of the Technical Shared Services team within the Information Technology Service (ITS) Branch. This team determines approaches, process, and procedures for integrating new technology into the existing and new application infrastructure(s); implements and maintains core application infrastructure; and manages DevOps solutions that automate processes and enable product teams to deliver quality applications.

The Senior DevOps Specialist reports to Team Lead and collaborates with technical architects, software developers, test specialists and other technical teams. The Senior DevOps specialist provides support for new and existing software, establishes and maintains CI/CD pipelines and facilitates workshops to bring projects' teams up to speed with DevOps processes. 

What do you need to succeed?

Must-have

  • University degree in computer science or related discipline and three years of recent related experience.
  • An equivalent combination of education, training and experience may be considered.
  • Three years of experience in various stages of Software Development lifecycle that includes:
    • Experience with DevOps toolkit that includes, but not limited to, Git, Subversion, Jenkins, Ansible Tower, Atlassian Jira, JFrog and Artifactory;
    • Experience with scripting languages, such as Bash, Python and Javascript;
    • Experience with Groovy or YAML;
    • Working with build tools, such as Ant, Maven, npm and gradle;
    • Experience in CI/CD pipeline implementation for projects;
    • Experience with implementing of orchestration and configuration management.

Nice-to-have

  • Experience in working with Docker containers.
  • Experience in Java development.
  • Experience with security models, including authentication, authorization, audit, data encryption.
