We are a bespoke health research firm specializing in innovative solutions to make the most of real-world evidence (RWE) and clinical trials. Most of our work involves harnessing the latest advances in Bayesian analytics and simulation techniques to create synthetic control cohorts for clinical trials, microsimulation health models for forecasting and to design highly efficient and innovative clinical trials. We are currently looking for a Senior Data Scientist to join our growing team of data scientists, epidemiologists, and clinical experts. The Senior Data Scientist will report to the Managing Directors and work closely with all members of the team. The primary responsibility of the Senior Data Scientist will be to contribute to the development and application of novel methods to build microsimulation and prediction models for clinical trials and real-world patient cohorts

The key responsibilities of the Senior Data Scientist include, but are not limited to:

  • Designing and performing simulations to inform the design of innovative clinical trials
  • Using machine learning and Bayesian statistics to build prediction models
  • Collating and analyzing large (and often heterogeneous) data sets
  • Supporting and leading the development of manuscripts for publication in peer reviewed scientific and medical journals
  • Leading the preparation of statistical analysis plans
  • Supervising and supporting research associates and project managers in data management

Qualifications:

  • PhD or MSc in Statistics, Biostatistics, Mathematics, or similar
  • Proficiency in Bayesian statistics
  • Proficiency in machine learning
  • Solid theoretical foundations in mathematics or probability theory
  • Demonstrated ability in scientific writing (e.g., published first author manuscripts)
  • Highly proficient in R or Python (other languages an asset) 
  • Effective communication, interpersonal and conflict resolution skills; ability to work effectively
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment and maintain a high level of efficiency and accuracy
