Senior Business Analyst
$67,418.93 - $77,019.79 annually (plus 6.6% Temporary Market Adjustment)

The Senior Business Analyst provides business analysis/consulting services and plans ongoing business and technology needs consistent with government and ministry strategic plans, system standards and interfacing requirements. The Senior Business Analyst is expected to provide expert advice to senior staff and supports multiple project teams.

The Strategic Partnerships Office is leading the implementation of the BC Bid application replacement under the Procurement Transformation Strategy. The goals of the strategy are to enable better access to procurement opportunities for small, medium and large businesses, make it easier for companies to do business with the government, provide best value and increased benefits for the people of BC by promoting innovation and improving social, indigenous and environmental outcomes and enhance procurement capacity within government. Each year the government spends over $6billion through procurement. This strategy supports government’s key priorities for making life more affordable, delivering the services that people count on and building a strong, sustainable economy that works for everyone.

BC Bid is the current sourcing tool used by both core government and hundreds of publicly-funded organizations, such as Crown corporations, health authorities, municipalities, etc. The replacement technology will streamline and automate procurement by supporting the spend analytics, strategic planning and sourcing components of procurement. 

Qualifications for this role include:

  • Degree in business administration, public administration, computer science, Information technology (IT), OR a related field. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience performing business analysis activities for key front-line application services with complex interactive business processes. Within that 5 years’ experience, must demonstrate:
  • Minimum 2 years’ experience providing business analysis support in a technical or IT environment; and
  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience in product design and practices gained working in a product, project or service capacity.
