Looking for a high energy and dynamic individual to join our Customer Network Implementation Local Governments team. This portfolio is on the cutting edge of innovation in the telecommunications space where TELUS is actively engaged with communities of all sizes, local and provincial governments and other organisations to identify opportunities to expand broadband technology and services. This is a fast-growing portfolio and one of the most strategic network programs at TELUS. Therefore stating grit, endless creativity, and stamina are a requirement is an understatement.

As the Senior Business Analyst in a business development support function, you will working with senior team members and Director to understand external opportunities with Local governments or Stakeholder organizations (e.g. Strategic Municipal opportunities, Rural Funding, Custom Footprint Execution, and Smart City arrangements) and be able to work thru our internal details to package up proposals or analyze opportunities.




Here's the impact you'll make and what we'll accomplish together

You'll work closely with team Program Leads and Director to play a Business Development Support role enabling agreements with local government to extend the PureFibre and Wireless networks as well as opportunities for revenue generation with identify client solutions. Programs where support will be applied will include PureFibre Custom Footprint Proposals, First Nations Connectivity, Municipal Relations and Smart Cities.

The Customer Network Implementation team is delivering a world-class customer experience by expanding our fibre-optic (PureFibre) infrastructure directly to homes and businesses across British Columbia and Alberta. The investment will ensure speed and capacity for generations to come, and create the foundation for access to future solutions like the connected home, smart cities, and our TELUS Health applications. This program is helping enable innovation in the delivery of education, healthcare solutions and consumer & business products and services while putting Canadian communities at the forefront of the emerging digital economy.

Here's how

You will collaborate with both a core program team and cross-functional teams to support the following key activities:
    •Identify and execute on new ideas and methods to drive business outcomes •Perform opportunity evaluations and Return on Investment analysis via working with external parties and internal partner teams (e.g. Engineering, Marketing, etc), where you will leverage your understanding of our fibre, wireless and copper access network coverage details, basic cost components to build networks, and associated payback analysis details •Complete due diligence such as any external risks (e.g. existing agreements with municipalities, First Nations, or regional districts that may impede our build plans) •Evaluate and develop proposals to external funding opportunities such as subsidy programs •Support the end to end program responsible for exploring and analysing new opportunities and requests to expand our broadband footprint into regions across Western Canada, while ensuring strong ROI and economics for TELUS •Establish a collection of multi-year strategies for evolving the portfolio and supporting broadband expansion •Lead opportunity intake by working with senior leaders and local team members to capture requests and coordination of responses •Provide accurate and timely updates to executive audiences that track progress on opportunity identification and implementation

    •Strong analytical and critical thinking skills coupled with superior ability to creatively solve problems, leveraging an entrepreneurial spirit with a sense of curiosity to find creative approaches •Flexible presentation & communication skills for executive & frontline audiences •Ability to navigate complex teams and collaborate with influence, with a demonstrated ability to influence cross-functional stakeholders to gain buy-in •A proven track record for consistently delivering results and effectively meeting program milestones and proactively identify when it's necessary to take certain steps and move ahead with confidence •Strong business & financial acumen with the ability to anticipate and develop strategies in a rapidly evolving telecommunication industry, while a background in Telecommunications is great it's not required •Recipient of a bachelor's degree or post-secondary diploma in Business, Computer Science, Marketing, or Engineering, or equivalent education and/or experience •It would be great to have an expert understanding of telecommunications network deployment and operations concepts, technologies and principles
