Job Title: Senior Accountant – Public Practice
Location: Vancouver, BC
Salary: $50 per hour
Job Type: Part-Time, 3 days per week with opportunity to go permanent full-time
Overview
A long‑established boutique public practice firm in Vancouver is seeking a mature CPA with strong experience in bookkeeping, compilation engagements, and Canadian tax compliance. The role also includes handling CRA correspondence and maintaining trusted client relationships. This part‑time position (three days per week) offers the potential to transition into a permanent role within a stable, collaborative firm.
What You’ll Do
- Manage full‑cycle bookkeeping for a portfolio of strategic clients and their related entities, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and year‑end readiness.
- Prepare Compilation Engagements (NTRs), including working papers and financial statements, in accordance with professional standards.
- Complete T1 and T2 tax returns, including year‑end adjustments, reconciliations, and review of client‑provided information.
- Handle CRA correspondence, including information requests, notices, and follow‑up requirements on behalf of clients.
Qualifications
- CPA designation and public practice experience are mandatory.
- Demonstrated strength in bookkeeping and compilation engagements, with the ability to manage files independently.
- Experience preparing T1 and T2 returns and supporting clients through CRA processes.
- Proficiency with common accounting and working‑paper software, with a mature, detail‑driven approach to client service.
