As a member of the TELUS Cyber Threat Intelligence Team within the Chief Security Office, you will be part of a growing national team leading efforts to monitor and distribute awareness around emerging cyber threats to TELUS internal stakeholders and external clients. Join the team that pushes proactivity in the field of cybersecurity by gathering intelligence on the newest threats and malicious trends that are out there and help isolate and assess these trends and their implications, allowing our stakeholders to prepare better to face them ahead of time.

The Cyber Threat Intelligence Team is made up of experts in the field when it comes to staying on top of and gathering knowledge on the newest threats that organizations are faced with within cyberspace. Every day, this team pushes the pace, growing TELUS' knowledge base on threats and building measures into its systems to thwart them before they even get the chance to become an issue. As a Security Consultant within this team, you will be an invaluable source of knowledge for TELUS' internal stakeholders and clients. Will gain exposure to TELUS's approach to protecting itself and its clients, creating roadmaps for the team's next avenues and helping with ideation, process creation and reviews while staying on top of new trends are just some of the exciting tasks you will be faced with in key role

Here's how
    •Leverage internal and external threat intelligence for situational awareness to provide context around threat data •Seek and implement improvements, security best practices, processes, reports and deliverables, and CTI tool effectiveness •Conduct research, manage threat feeds, tune OSINT data collections, perform fundamental data processing and data analysis •Prepare threat intelligence reports to meet stakeholders' requirements •Provide specific, proactive recommendations for business and technical issues to mitigate identified risks and guide security decisions •Analyze public and private information to detect and track threats, threat groups, tactics, techniques, tools, and infrastructure in a constantly changing threat landscape •Perform advanced threat research and investigation on critical risks, including but not limited to tracking malicious global operations and targeted attacks over a variety of communication channels •Understand and utilize threat intelligence models for both internal and external data sets to aid analysis and reporting •Lead in the correlation of data sets between COTS and proprietary feeds •Develop and implement SIEM use cases, correlations and accelerators •Lead customer interactions in order to become familiar with their environments, process and key people


Qualifications:


You're the missing piece of the puzzle
    •You hold a University degree in Computer Science, Engineering or a similar discipline •You have 3+ years of hands-on work experience in network and systems security •You are experienced with Threat Intelligence Platform and toolsets •You are the go-to person when it comes to evaluating the latest attack techniques and appropriate countermeasures and understand latest malware, activity group and threat actor profiles •You are sought out for your experience with or knowledge of several network and IT domains such as asset security, security architecture and engineering, identity and access management, security testing, software development, risk management and others. •You are a great communicator in both written and verbal channels.

Great-to-haves
    •Technical or professional certifications are relevant to the field •Designations such as ISC2, ISACA, GIAC, OffSec, eLearnSecurity and others •Past working experience working in a Security Operations Center, Incident Response or IT Security positions
