Job Description
6-month contract Security Analyst role with a global organization with a hybrid work environment located in downtown Vancouver
As part of an ongoing investment in enterprise cybersecurity, our client is looking to hire a Security Analyst to join their cyber team. In this role, you'll be a key player on the Security Operations Center team, helping protect their networks, devices, and data from malicious threats. You'll triage alerts, investigate incidents, and dig into malware to understand what's really going on. Your work will directly strengthen how the organization detects and responds to attacks, and you'll help build the tools and processes that make the whole team more effective.

You:
You will bring the following education, skills and experience to the role:
- You have a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Security, Cybersecurity, or a related field, plus 2 to 4 years of experience in Security Operations, Incident Response, or Information Security Technology.
- You bring a strong grasp of security concepts like malware, phishing, Defense in Depth, and the MITRE ATT&CK framework, along with solid knowledge of M365 Security tools, Azure, AWS, and GCP.
- You're comfortable working hands on with security tools such as SIEM platforms (Sentinel, Splunk, Elastic), EDR, firewalls, IDS/IPS, and anti spam solutions, and you know your way around Windows, Linux, and/or Mac OS event logs.
- You have experience with networking protocols (SMTP, HTTP, HTTPS, FTP, DNS, DHCP), query and scripting languages, and security orchestration, automation, and response (SOAR) tools.
This role pays between $50-60 per hour.
