Software Delivery Manager Consultant - candidates must be locally based in Victoria BC

The Software Delivery Manager is responsible for delivering complex programs or projects and for ensuring support of the production applications meet the expected service levels of our customers. You will be responsible for guiding, coaching, and educating product owners and development teams through story development, iterations, retrospectives, product backlog management and decision making. The successful candidate will apply specialist knowledge of Agile and Scrum to help teams deliver and continuously improve their product and services quality and speed of delivery and will assist with technical approaches to delivery when appropriate.

Key Areas of Responsibility

• Provide Delivery Leadership to initiatives, projects and programs staffed by integrated project teams (client, vendors, subcontractors, consultants).
• Manage business critical and significant projects and customer relationships.
• Help teams communicate technical work such as tech-debt, CI/CD improvements etc. to the PO and other stakeholders to ensure high software quality
• Facilitate Scrum ceremonies such as daily stand-ups, backlog refinement , sprint planning, sprint reviews and retrospectives .
• Guides the team through the scrum process, helping to remove any impediments blocking progress and prevent potential drawbacks.
• Lead the team and organization using Agile and Scrum methodology, while maintaining best practices and values.
• Lead by example to maximize organizational efficiency.
• Work with the Product Owner and the Development team to break down features into technical and non-technical tasks
• Remove and resolve technical and non-technical impediments.
• Enable a safe and trusting environment where challenges can be escalated appropriately, with the focus on problem solving in a calm and analytical fashion.
• Improve transparency, disseminate information and ensure communication excellence both internally and externally.
• Find methods to effectively manage the product backlog including the facilitation of technical sessions with the development teams and non-technical sessions with relevant stakeholders
• Go above and beyond to ensure customer satisfaction is met and exceeded.
• Encourage and support the team by leading by example.
Professional Qualifications & Experience

• Certified Scrum Master (CSM) or equivalent certification.
• Extensive experience of Delivery leadership in complex environments
• Extensive experience in the use of Agile methodologies to deliver both projects and support services.
• Some software development experience and/or development experience.
• An understanding of the DevOps components such as Github Actions, Jenkins, test automation, etc. and how the work together
• Experience with Git repositories
• A minimum of 3 -5 years previous experience in a Scrum Master role applying principles, practices, and technique.
• Extensive direct hands on experience in Agile and DevOps environments.
• Experience involving continuous process improvement, business requirements and analysis, and technical proficiency.
• Knowledge and experience of numerous well documented patterns and techniques for filling in the intentional gaps left in the Scrum approach.
• Excellent communication and mentoring skills.
• Ability to effectively articulate challenges and solutions and conflict resolution.
• Clear and effective communication with clients, account executives, and management, building trust.
