Position Overview:Job Description Summary
This position is responsible for maintaining overall Finning Health and Safety program documentation (e.g. policies, procedures, and practices), maintaining the corporate score card, and coordinating Health and Safety department communication.

Job Description

  • Maintain documentation and document control for the overall Finning Health and Safety program, includes creating new policies, drafting safe work practices documentation, maintaining forms, and reviewing all documentation periodically
  • Complete special, ad hoc, projects, as assigned
  • Maintain the Health and Safety department's internal website
  • Create and maintain corporate Health and Safety program documentation that is consistent, accurate and current
  • Complete periodical reviews of all documentation
  • Produce and distribute accurate, comprehensive and timely corporate scorecard monthly reports
  • Champion corporate implementation of new initiatives and programs
  • Identify and act on opportunities for improvement, within documentation, program content or policies, procedures and practices
  • Represent the company in a professional and ethical manager and maintain effective relationships with all internal departments and employees and customers, while maintaining confidentiality

  • Excellent organizational and prioritization skills
  • Ability to communicate and build rapport with key people within the organization


Knowledge:
  • Proficient in MS Office applications
  • Knowledgeable in documentation creation and standardization
  • Occupational Health and Safety (OH&S) legislation as it relates to the industries that Finning (Canada) participates in
  • Familiar with Finning's business and history
  • Familiar with internal management systems, specifically Khalix, Lawson and the incident management database, and of the Finning (Canada) intranet site
  • Understands and adheres to Finning policies and procedures, including safety


Experience:
  • 3 to 5 years of health and safety experience
