BCAA Emergency Roadside Assist team is growing again, we are looking to hire a regular full-time Road Assist Fleet Blocker. This role will have a critical impact on Member safety and satisfaction and is responsible for providing professional roadside vehicle safety for our Road Assist Fleet, partners and BCAA members. The position will also be responsible for providing minor mechanical roadside services to ensure a quick and safe response to our Members' needs.

Key Responsibilities Include
    •Attend service calls on highways and local roads to support as a blocker vehicle, ensuring the safety of himself/herself, the Fleet Driver and Members
    •Upon arrival to the scene, complete a traffic scene assessment to ensure the safety and position of vehicles, while working in close coordination with the Fleet Driver and Fleet Dispatch, and/or tow partners prior to and during setup
    •Provide friendly, courteous, and professional service at all times while maintaining BCAA's high standard of service and image
    •Offer additional support in light service, out of gas, unlocks, and battery boost
    •Shuttle vehicle, battery, parts and equipment to support driver, member and fleet operations
    •Maintain general knowledge of BCAA's products and services, as well as all Roadside Assistance operational policies and procedures
    •Maintain care and control of BCAA equipment & documentation
    •Adhere to all BCAA corporate standards


Minimum Qualifications
Education:
    •Minimum completion of Grade 12 education

Experience:
    •Minimum 3 years of related mechanic experience or an equivalent combination of education & experience

Other Skills and Requirements:
    •Strong communication & customer service skills
    •Ability to use good judgment and decision making to provide a safe environment for Members and Fleet Drivers
    •A valid B.C. driver license & clean driver record with no more than 2 infractions
    •A high level of knowledge of BCAA and affiliate products and services
    •Ability to operate on a shift work schedule
    •Must complete a mandatory Fleet Blocker training course (within the first two days of the role)
    •Level 1 First Aid Training preferred

Background Check/Medical Evaluation:
    •Must successfully pass a background check, which may include a criminal, credit, credential, and a "Fit To Work" medical evaluation.
