Position Overview: Join the Finning Canada family, part of the world's largest Caterpillar dealer. We are currently looking for a dedicated Resident Preventative Maintenance Specialist who will be responsible for performing scheduled oil changes, oil sampling and maintenance as per specific checklists.

If you are a safety conscious team player, self-motivated, autonomous, detail-oriented and have experience working in the heavy duty equipment industry with a valid driver's license, then you are exactly who we are looking for!

Job Description:
Major Job Functions:
  • Performs scheduled oil sampling and change fluid filters as per contract agreement
  • Performs maintenance as per machine specific checklist and conduct visual machine condition reports
  • Coordinate parts ordering, maintain, and stock service truck


Qualifications:
  • Must have 3 or more years experience in the heavy equipment industry
  • Successful candidate will need to be customer oriented and motivated to meet the customer's expectation
  • Must be able to make first customer contact for PM scheduling
  • Strong organizational, interpersonal and communication skills communication (verbal and written)
  • Ability to work safely with minimal supervision
  • Environmentally responsible in sensitive work areas
  • Self-motivated and computer literate
  • Experience with Microsoft Office
  • Fluent in electronic communication and service reporting
  • Experience with CAT Software programs is preferred
  • Mechanical aptitude


Note:
  • Please be advised, the successful candidate for this position will reside in Sechelt area of the Sunshine Coast of BC
  • Preventive Maintenance Mechanics/Specialists are required to be flexible in managing their work schedule, both regarding days, nights, hours, and overtime
  • A recent driver's abstract is required
  • As a Resident PM Specialist this position will include a 9% wage premium
  • A bonus of twenty dollars ($20.00) per PM inspection will be paid as an incentive to work the irregular schedule
  • Candidate selection will be in compliance with the terms of the current collective agreement
