Team Leader, Reliability
 
The Opportunity:
Canfor Pulp is looking for a Reliability Team Leader with an exceptional mechanical background, the courage to lead change, and a passion for reliability.  Your best in class problem-solving, advanced computer skills and positive can-do attitude that all failures are preventable will help guide you and Canfor in the constant pursuit of processes and equipment improvement.
 
The Role:
Reporting to the Manager of Reliability and Assets, you will be responsible for guiding efforts to ensure reliability and maintainability of equipment, processes, utilities, facilities, controls and safety/security systems.

Reliability is the cornerstone of stable production and maintenance cost controls, as a professional in your field you will bring your experiences to the forefront in the identification and management of asset reliability risks that could adversely affect the plant or business operations. With a focus on Reliable Manufacturing, Root Cause Failure Analysis, this broad role includes loss elimination, risk management and life cycle asset management.  This role will have the you and the Reliability Team working closely with production and other areas to ensure the reliability and maintainability of new and existing equipment, so your ability to collaborate, communicate and support will be of key importance. 
 
You will possess a Degree or Technologist Diploma or relevant experience in one of the following:
  • Mechanical Engineering
  • Reliability Engineering
  • Electrical Engineering
  • Instrumentation (Electronics) Engineering
  • Chemical Engineering
 
You will also have:
  • Minimum of 3 years process industry experience required
  • Strong mechanical, metallurgical and electrical knowledge and aptitude
  • Advanced computer skills, with emphasis on condition monitoring software
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong knowledge of Defect Elimination (DE) systems such as Kepner Tregoe or Kaizan
  • Excellent presentation skills
  • Strong knowledge of preventative maintenance practices, programs and the tools associated with failure detection (e.g. vibration analysis, oil monitoring, thermography) as well as the software associated with them
