Regional Sales Representative to the Municipal Government Sector

We are looking for solid domain expertise in the areas of planning, permitting, licensing and by-law enforcement. Our market is very healthy and offers great earning potential.

Overview

Since 1982, CityView, a division of Harris, has focused on creating and implementing land and records management and enforcement software for local governments in North America. In fact, CityView was created by former public sector employees who instilled their first-hand experience of local government needs and challenges into the software they built and the company culture they fostered.

We are currently seeking a Sales Representative to join our growing team. This exciting opportunity will involve travelling in a designated territory, learning new technology and working with a reputable company backed by a knowledgeable and experienced team. This role has tremendous growth potential.

Your purpose

The Regional Sales Representative will promote and sell the company’s products and services to local governments within Western Canada and the Prairies.  You will establish, develop and maintain business relationships with current and prospective customers in the territory. You will generate new business from aligning our offerings to prospects’ needs and illustrating these through powerful software presentations and product demonstrations. 

The ideal candidate is intellectually curious, reliable, self-motivated and has an exceptional work ethic

Your responsibilities

  • Analyzes the territory/market’s potential and plans & executes targeted prospecting activities and events to drive leads.
  • Makes telephone calls and in-person visits and presentations to existing and prospective customers
  • Develops and executes regional territory sales and marketing plan
  • Develops clear and effective written proposals/quotations for current and prospective customers.  Ensures the quality and timeliness of RFP responses for the territory
  • Acquires detailed product and service knowledge and stays current of developments
  • Obtains in depth knowledge of competitors and keeps abreast of competitive activities
  • Records all interactions with customers and prospects in the Salesforce CRM
  • Builds and maintains a sufficient sales pipeline to ensure sales targets are consistently and sustainably met
  • Forecasts bookings and expenses realistically
  • Participates in trade shows, conferences and customer group meetings
  • Maintains customer relationships after the sale
