We are looking for a forward thinking leader to manage the Quality Assurance (QA) department, to drive change, and to uphold the highest quality standards. Reporting to the Senior Director of Operations, the Quality Assurance Manager is responsible for the overall management of MDA's Surveillance & Intelligence Quality System from business development to customer support. This is a business critical position with impact across the Surveillance & Intelligence business unit. In this role you will have the ability to affect change, and improve the quality process of all the systems, services and products we produce.
Develop strategies to lead the company quality operations in meeting business objectives, with a focus on supporting the development of delivering products as service model
Manage the development, implementation and maintenance of required quality assurance processes and systems that will assure products and services meet program, company, customer and industry standard requirements
Develop QA activities that provide timely, anticipatory and forward leaning identification and notification of deviations from plans and processes
Drive strategic quality planning for the organization by Identifying, analyzing, assessing, defining and prioritizing key quality projects, metrics, and goals to support company's Strategic Objectives and annual business plan
Ensure maintenance of ISO 9001 certification
Define and monitor methods, procedures and practices that ensure systems, services and products meet industry, national and international standards
Report Quality System effectiveness to senior management and recommend improvement and modifications to existing programs and new quality programs based on industry quality practices
Identify trends and systematic circumstances that affect enterprise wide engineering design and solution development, service support and product delivery
Create and maintain an environment that promotes teamwork, responsiveness, efficiency and a positive working environment
Ensure appropriate development, implementation, communication and adoption of Product and Service Quality Planning
Develop and manage an annual Audit Master Plan, including internal, external and customer audit activities
Requires a post-secondary degree in Science or Engineering and at least 10 years' experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience
10+ years leadership or management experience
Previous experience working with and implementing ISO 9001 standards
Strong experience in the implementation and/or management of Product and Service Quality Planning, Lean Six Sigma Methods/Process Control Tools, Quality Systems, and Project Management
Requires excellent verbal and written communication skills
Strong people management skills, including the ability to effectively engage with all stakeholders of company systems and processes
Knowledge of general business procedures, as well as a sensitivity to cost and changing business needs
Comments/Special Considerations: Positions are based in Richmond, BC and may include travel.
Successful candidate(s) must be able to obtain and hold security clearance at the Reliability level, and pass security assessment for the Controlled Goods Program.
